Two Sisters of a Kind

(3rd person)

           Knuckles was out buying some food at Central City. He left Shade to guard the Master Emerald. As he was buying some food, two other girl echidnas were walking around the busy city.

"Are you sure he's here?" one of the girls asked.

"Positive. He works with Sonic and Miles. He should be here" the second girl said calmly.

The two girls walked around, and the first girl snapped her fingers.

"Let's go and find the Chaotix group! He's friends with them!" she said.

The second girl thought about this and acquiesced. The two of them made their way to the detective agency. The first girl knocked on the door and Charmy opened it.

"Yay! Customers!" he shouted excitedly.

He led them to the living room. An armadillo, chameleon, flying squirrel, and crocodile in the room.

"Hello ladies! How can we help you?" Vector the crocodile asked with a smile.

The first girl introduced "My name is Lara, and this is my twin sister Jani. We are looking for our big brother Knuckles"

The Chaotix Detective Agency jumped up! Knuckles had two, younger, twin sisters?! Knuckles returned to Angel Island with some food. He tossed an apple to Shade and she caught it. Knuckles joined her and the two continued to watch the Master Emerald. However, Shade noticed the Chaotix group was coming with two girl echidnas. Shade nudged Knuckles' shoulder.

"Hey, who are they?" Shade asked as she pointed to the girls.

Knuckles sat up as he finished an apple. He spit out the apple and his eyes were wide with fear. He couldn't believe what he was seeing! He jumped down from the island and ran to them. Shade was confused, but she followed them. Knuckles ran and embraced the two girls tightly.

"You're alive..." Knuckles said with a crack in his voice.

Shade was confused. She thought Knuckles was the only living echidna here.

"Who are they?" Shade asked curiously.

"The more joyful girl is Lara and the serious girl is Jani. They claim to be Knuckles' long lost young twin sisters" Espio said calmly.

Shade was surprised. Knuckles kept hugging his sisters tightly until Lara pulled him away.

"How did you escape?" Knuckles asked amazed.

"A hedgehog came and saved us!" Lara said with excitement.

"Uh, I hate to ruin this moment, but can you please explain to us what happened?" Mighty asked curiously.

Jani nodded as she told the group what had happened to the three of them.

There was a small town of echidnas that had lived in. It was near Angel Island. Everyone was living a peaceful life. However, a great fire consumed a distance castle. Everyone decided to flee, but the fire soon reached their village. A mysterious creature entered the village and made the fires consume everything. A young women echidna took her children to Angel Island. Her son made it to the Master Emerald, but she was with her two daughters. The creature trapped them in a burning house! The mother held her daughters close to her and a hedgehog came to save them. The mother handed her children to the hedgehog. The hedgehog nodded and carried the two girls far away! She left them in at Emerald City and then she went back to check on the son. He was being protected by the Master Emerald's power. The hedgehog then disappeared.

Te group was surprised to hear that a hedgehog had saved them, but Lara was still smiling.

"It doesn't matter how it happened. At least we are together again! Now, please introduce me to your girlfriend!" Lara said excitedly.

Knuckles and Shade blushed a bit while the Chaotix laughed a bit.

"She is not my girlfriend! She's just my partner who helps me protect the Master Emerald from harm! Her name is Shade!" Knuckles explained quickly.

Shade was surprised to see Knuckles flustered. The two girls just giggled a bit.

"So, where do you live?" Jani asked.

Knuckles scratched his head nervously. He just sleeps on the shrine on Angel Island. Shade did have a house in Centeral City.

"You don't have a house?!" Lara said surprised.

"Well, do you two have a house?!" Knuckles shouted embarrassed.

Jani smirked as she answered with pride "Actually, we do have a house in Emerald City"

Knuckles' jaw dropped. He was impressed with his sisters. However, his sisters wanted to spend the rest of the day with Knuckles. The two of them took their big brother out of tow, and they were able to catch up on their lives. Shade was happy for her friend, but she also felt like this wasn't an acciedent. She believed it was faith that led Knuckles back to his sisters.
