Arrow (How to Train Your Dragon Fanfic)

Chapter 2

     Arrow is a young girl again. The dream starts with her receiving the dagger from a strange creature. The young girl wraps her tiny arms around the creature that kinda looked like her. It then skips to the same creature showing her how to use it. The dream then warps to Arrow being carried by a female version of the strange creature from before. The creature is running quickly through the woods, Arrow is asking what's happening while the creature runs further and further into the woods, only stopping when she's in front of Night. The creature sets Arrow down and whispers something to the large Light Fury. The large Light Fury, a male presumably, nuzzles with Night before setting off, the sunset marking on his legs glowing bright. Night retracts the spikes on her back while waking up her children. The female creature places her on top of Night's back. The babies now fully awake and sniffing small Arrow, flying close to her, much larger than her. The female creature that looked like Arrow kissed her on her nose when an arrow shot through the female creature. Arrow blinks not understanding what's going on at the time. The creature whispers lovingly, "Mommy's only going to sleep, ok?" Arrow nods her small head. Night then flies off, her children following closely behind. Arrow looks back and sees men with red paint on their faces dragging off the kind creature. She sees a shield with two swords clashing and blood and fire circling the swords.

     Arrow wakes up with dry tears on her cheeks and feels a large head nudging her side. She groggily wakes up and sits up, rubbing her eyes with her right hand. Crow is nudging her worriedly and growls. "We must go, Arrow. Something arrived on the island." Arrow gets up and smooths her wrinkled fur and feather dress. She sees a creature blocking the entrance with a dragon that looked like Shadow with green eyes. His nostrils and spikes were glowing; the same with the inside of his open and snarling mouth. The strange creature looks at her with his green eyes. His jaw drops open.

     "There's another human!" Night growls louder. "Get away, human boy!" Arrow copies what her family is doing and hisses at him angrily. Crow grabs Arrows hand with his mouth, his teeth retracted. Arrow draws her hand back and wipes it on her fur dress, all the while following Crow deeper into the cave. She hears the creature cry out, "WAIT!" Arrow doesn't.

     Crow stops when he senses the dead end of the cave and crouches down in the shadows, almost blending in perfectly. If only his pelt were darker. Arrow crouches behind a rock jutting out the ground. The only sounds Arrow can hear is water dripping and the stream running through one of the cave's many tunnels. Crows antennas constantly twitching trying to sense what's happening above. When she finally hears footsteps, she draws her knife and grips it tightly. The footsteps too light to be Shadow, Hydro, or Silver's and too heavy to be Night's footsteps. The dragon she saw earlier steps into her view.

     "You don't have to hide. I promise we won't hurt you." The green-eyed dragon steps closer to Arrow. Crow then springs out of his hiding spot and tackles the dragon. However, the dragon has the advantage of being able to see while Crow does not. It still takes some time to pin down Crow since his sensitive antenna allowed him to kinda see what attacks will come next. When the invader finally pins down Crow, he places his teeth by Crow's throat and his teeth come out drawing a bit of blood from the dark, gray dragon's neck. Arrow cries out and steps out. "Don't hurt my brother, you vile dragon!" The black dragon growls. "I won't hurt him if you promise to come with me."

     "I promise! Just let Crow go!"

     "Put away your dagger." Arrow slides her knife back into its sheath. The green-eyed dragon retracts his teeth and steps off Crow. Crow growls something incomprehensible to Arrow and the dragon with a strange contraption on its back rolls its eyes. Arrow walks towards the entrance with Crow and the black dragon trailing behind. Both of their spikes raised and out, ready for an attack.

     Arrow finally reaches the entrance and peeks out to see everyone intently sitting on the sand, watching the creature who seems to be nervously staring at his feet. All of their spikes raised in caution. The creature, who seemed to be called a human, raised its head and smiled broadly when it spotted Arrow. Night looked at Arrow with her purple eyes, silently warning her to be careful. She steps out further in the open, the feathers thickly lining her collar moving in the wind. Crow walks out of the cave and the black dragon nudges Arrow forward.

     "I'm Hiccup. That's my dragon Toothless." The human cheerily says. Arrow simply glares and walks next to Stardust; Silver is whispering to Crow about what happened to his neck.

     "Could you, uh, introduce me to everyone?" The boy asks, rubbing the back of his head nervously. Arrow stonily introduces everyone. "Night is the one with purple eyes. She's our mother. Shadow is the one with gray eyes. Hydro is the one with blue markings around his blue eyes. Silver is the light gray dragon with yellow eyes. Crow is the one next to him; he's blind. This is Stardust." Hydro's markings were glowing a sickly blue, showing he was nervous and angry. Night's gray legs were glowing a dark gray. And Stardust markings around her eyes were glowing a dark purple, bright pink, and sickly blue, showing her anger and nervousness.

     "Uhh. What's your name." The boy named Hiccup asks.

     "Arrow."

     "Could you bring your dragons back to my island, Berk? Silver, Crow, and Stardust are completely new species! Toothless and I need to study them!" Night growls. "Come with you? You hurt my baby!" She rises up and her mouth is glowing a purple, indicating she was ready to shoot a plasma blast. Toothless growled. "Step down, Night."

     Hiccup looked lost and scared while everyone rose up and looked ready to shoot a plasma blast at him, spikes raised, teeth bared, and markings glowing brightly, threatened by Toothless telling their mother to stand down. Arrow bares her teeth and draws out her knife.

     "Toothless stand down! We're outnumbered!" Toothless glares at everyone before hesitantly sitting down and retracting his spikes and teeth. Silver, Hydro, and Stardust withdraw their teeth and the plasma glow from their throats dies down, and they slowly sit down. However, Crow, Shadow, and Night stay up, only  their plasma blast dying down. Hiccup seemed to be calm enough to ask, "soooo. Will you come to my island?"
