Lady's POV:
"I woke up the next day at the sound of my bedroom's door creaking, I half opened my eyes and it was my mother. I didn't know when I fell asleep nor what time was it. I got up to find that my phone still on my hand. No texts. No calls. Nothing.
"Good morning." My mom said with a smile on her face, but her smile faded when she saw me grabbing my phone and leaving the room. "Where are you going?".
I stopped at the edge of the door and said "I don't know". As I leave the room, I could feel her eyes following my steps to the front door. I opened the door and...
"Cody?" He was here, standing in front of me. Am I dreaming?! No! "What are you doing here?"
"I have to talk to you" I stopped him by grabbing his arm and heading outside.
"Give me you phone" I snapped. He gave me a confused look and kept looking into my eyes.
"Why do you need my phone?! Lady, listen, I need to talk to you, it's emergency. Just calm down and.."
He tried to reach for my elbow and I jerked. "Give me the damn phone" I screamed. He didn't respond so I reached for his pocket and grabbed the phone. His voice mail was empty and there's no text received from me.
"Can you please just calm down, I can explain" I gave him back the phone and he gasped saying thank you.
"Yesterday, I went with my mom to the hospital because some friend of my brothers said that Jeremy had an accident. I couldn't answer your calls because I was so bazy trying to calm down my mother. And for all the messages and calls deleted, maybe I pressed some button and delete every thing. It's not a big deal. You always try to make a sceen of every thing."
If the circumstances was a little different, I would had answered to his harsh remark, but at that moment, I needed to apologize. I was making a scene of it and again, he was right. I always over think about every thing. I tried to convince myself to believe him because deep inside of me, I knew that there was more than his brother's accident.
"I'm sorry" I hugged him and he let go a breath in my hair. "would you like to come in? Or can I go with you to see your brother?"
"No, it's okay. I told you it wasn't a big deal. I have to go now."
"Aren't you supposed to spend the day with me?"
"To go for shopping?" He laughed "No thank you! Goodbye now, I'll pick you up at 7."
I waved to him goodbye and went back inside. When I passed next to the mirror, I literally got scared. My hair was curled all over my shoulders, I was wearing my sweet pants with an unicorn print and my mascara and eye liner from yesterday still in my eyes. I ran to the bathroom and took a hot shower. His brother had an accident?! Why can't I believe him? He could had at least explain it in the text I received. Was he trying to hid something? God, Lady! You always over think about any thing. I had to go to the mall but I'm not excited at all to go all alone. I had been waiting for that day since ever. The day I got my car and have 17. 17...which means he was three years younger than me. Cody tried his best to not make me feel uncomfortable about the age but how could I forget this detail about him? I dried my hair and headed to my mother's room. She didn't had to work this day and I found her reading her book.
"Mom, I'm going to the mall. Cody invited me to a party and I have nothing to wear."
She put her glasses on the her lap and closed her book "So, you won't be her to celebrate your birthday?" I shook my hand and she gasped in disappointment "anyway, let me first give you you birthday gift." She rushed to her closet and grabbed a little box with a red bow "happy birthday!" She screamed with a pitch note and I couldn't help but smiled at her excitement. I opened the box and it was car keys. "Your car is waiting outside. Go!" I run to the front and opened it and I found a grey Toyota Yaris parking in our driveway. I turned back and I found my mom smiling widely and I hugged her, thanking her.
