Riker kissed my neck as we lay in his bed, laughing and talking about moving in together. "I think we have time for one more round," Riker said hungrily, pressing himself up against me and kissing me. "Riker," I breathed, "We're supposed to go to Rocky's house tonight," I sat up, covering myself with the bed sheet and throwing my shirt back on. "Sounds nice," he replied, "We can tell everyone we're moving in together." He grabbed my from behind, kissing up my neck and biting on my ear. I turned around, running my fingers through his hair and listening to him groan. I loved when he was putty in my hands.
It had been a week since Riker had told me he loved me. And I had reluctantly said it back to him. We were moving in together, and now was the perfect time, seeing as I had time off and I could enjoy it with him and the rest of our little family we had. Rydel and Ellington had made up excuses not to see us for the first week we were off of work, which was fine by Us, Because more time to stay home and you know-do stuff.
All at once I got up and put my skirt on, deciding I needed other clothes. "I need to go to my apartment and change." I said, looking in the mirror and shaking my brown hair around. It stayed nice and curly from earlier in the day. "Okay," he replied, "I can wait here." "No!" I said too quickly, looking at him. I didn't want to go over there alone, knowing that those guys could be there. "Come with me."
"What?" He asked, dumbfounded. "You never let me over to your place." "I'm private." I whispered, looking down. I grabbed my heels from the living room and yelled to him. He followed behind me, watching me intently as I unlocked the door and set my shoes on the floor. Our apartments are identical, but mirrored. You walk into a hallway, on the left in my place is a laundry room and a closet, and to the right is open living room and kitchen connected to it. There's a door around the corner of the living room that leads to the one bedroom. Riker had two bedrooms though he didn't really need it.
His jaw dropped and he sat down at my place, "I've never been in here before." He said. "Bullshit," I called, "I've invited everyone over before." "Duh, Harp like a year ago, you got new furniture and stuff." I looked around, "I guess so yeah," I nodded. I walked him into my bedroom and he sat on my made up king sized bed as I walked into my closet and bathroom. "We're just going to Rocky's?" He questioned. "Yeah, I think." I yelled, picking up a pair of shorts and a tank top.
I came out and set the clothes on my bed next to him, going back over to grab a pair of wedge heels. "Harp, how come you don't have any family pictures? All you have are pictures of all of us." He looked around my almost bare, stark white bedroom. "Becasue you guys are my family." I stated simply, "Anyways," I said pulling my shirt off of my body.
"Yeah," he said quickly. "What are you doing the next two weeks?" I asked and slid my shorts on over my lace thong and he gawked, shaking his head, "Wait what repeat?" "Jesus Christ," I rolled my eyes, "Maybe I shouldn't change in front of you anymore." I laughed at him. "What are your work plans for the next two weeks?" I asked impatiently. Riker and Rocky were music producers in a big company. They were very important people.
"I mean we have an artist coming in for two days this week and then I can take off I guess," He said, "Why?" "Because Rydel, Ellington, and I thought we could all go somewhere?" I asked, bending over towards him, "Get away from the stress, maybe a road trip or something!" I whispered, rubbing his shoulders. He kissed me, nodding, "Sounds great, I'll look at my schedule later tonight," "Excellent," I smiled, spinning around to grab my shoes. I slipped them on and stood up. "So gorgeous," he smirked, winking at me and taking my hand. "Let's go," I said, going out. I grabbed my purse and keys, locking up.
My grip on Riker's hand tightened as we walked outside. A man stood just like one of the men that had been following me, but usually they would look straight to me and today, like most days now, he didn't even flinch. It was like he didn't even see me. I silently thanked God for him not noticing me. I looked almost the same, except for the change in hair color in a small attempt to feign off random stalkers. I had gone from brown to a red shade and it worked in making them think I wasn't myself. According to Riker I was "so hot," with the hair. "You alright?" Riker asked, looking at me. We walked up the street to Rocky's condo.
"I'm fine?" I asked, "is something off with me?" "No," he smiled, "You're just death gripping my hand." I looked down, "Oh sorry," I said. "It's okay baby," he replied, looking forward again. I had to admit it was such a turn on when he called me baby. But we weren't together. "Riker," I started, here goes, "I know you love me," I sighed. "And you love me," he said to me, smiling. "Right," I nodded, "But let's not tell everyone tonight. Is that okay?" I asked, knowing I would have to tell them at some point. "But what about moving in?" He asked, suddenly upset.
"No no!" I said, "Let's tell them we're moving in together. They'll take that better than us saying we're together. You know?" "I guess," he said. "Things are complicated Riker, you know that. I just want everything straightened out." I said. 'Not to mention the fact that us being together would make him a prime target for This freak gang to want to kill him,' I thought to myself, shuddering. "I understand," He smiled, squeezing my hand a bit and opening the door to the apartment complex for me. Ross was in the lobby, shaking his knee around and had his head in his hands. Rocky sat across from him, staring at the floor.
"Whoa there," Riker said, and they looked up at us. "Everything okay?" Riker asked. Ross looked from Rocky to Riker to me and then at our hands intertwined. I let go quickly, loosely shoving my hand into my jacket pocket. "We um," Ross said beginning to laugh wildly. Rocky cracked a smile, "We walked in on Rydel and Ellington and they didn't see us and we got scared so we were waiting for y'all to get here to go up with us."
I smiled, looking up at Riker and sticking up my hand for a high five. "They're having sex?!" I squealed, sounding like a teenage girl. "Ugh yeah," Rocky said. "Because you know what that means!" I said, "It's payday bitches!!!" I laughed, "Cough it up Rocky, $20 all mineeeee!" I smiled, jumping up and sticking out my hand. He rolled his eyes and got out his wallet. He looked at his curious brothers, "We made a bet and I said it would take until our next group vacation until they banged, but seeing as our vacation isn't until next week and here we are, I owe her 20 bucks." He explains, I smiled, taking the cash and stashing it away.
"Let's go up! At least someone is using their time off wisely!" I clapped my hands, looking at Riker, who had worked late almost every day I'd been off, leaving me very lonely in his apartment. "Not my fault I have to work..." He squeezed my hand, smirking, "We'll just have to catch up on vacation..." He said, making me giggle. I blushed, "That sound's delightful. But back to Del and Ellington, I've been making fun of them for their flirting for WEEKS!" I smiled. "Hold on!" Ross said, "They don't even know we saw them! We can't tell them." I frowned, remembering it was against the rules of our employer for them to be together anyway.
"Okay," I sighed, "I'll wait until I can catch them myself." Ross nodded, "Good. And how was your um," he looked at me and Riker, "Date or something last week? We haven't seen y'all at all." "Oh it wasn't a date!" Riker finished quickly, "We just had some stuff to discuss." I added. Rocky coughed, "Like what the other looks like naked?" He said, making him and Ross burst out into laughter in the elevator. Riker turned a deep red, smiling sheepishly, but he stood proudly. "Our business, not yours little boys!" I said, knowing little had happened anyway.
We knocked on Rydel's apartment door and she came to it flustered, "Hey guys, I thought we were meeting at Rocky's," She said, letting us in. "We were," I said, "But Rocky insisted on meeting here." Ratliff sat on the couch drinking a beer and fixed his hair. Rydel hugged her brothers and I hugged Ellington. "How's it going guys?" He asked. "Just peachy." Rocky responded, looking at him and Rydel. Riker looked at me and sighed happily, "Harper and I are moving together!" He smiled contently. I put my head in my hands, 'Fuck.'
