A noise pierced my ears and I jumped out of bed as fast as I could. "What the hell?" I muttered, realizing it was the phone, "I didn't recognize the ringer," I groaned. "Who's calling us?" Riker mumbled, rolling over on our king sized matress. I, still not used to the layout of the new house, promptly ran into the closed door and fell backward, "Owww." I groaned, laying on the floor.

The phone stopped ringing and the door swung open, almost hitting me, "Mom wants to come over for breakfast." Ross said with no emotion in his voice.

"Fuck no," Riker hissed, "It's," He looked at the clock, "9 am," He realized, "Time change..." He shook his head, "How did she even get our home number?!" He asked. Ross shrugged, putting the phone back up to his ear, "We're actually really exhausted and we haven't finished unpacking yet, but maybe we'll come by tonight and let Ellington and Harper see the place." He paused. "Okay Mom, Love you too. Bye," He said, hanging up the phone.

"Next time, Harper gets it." He said, pointing at me, still on the floor. "Oh yeah, cause our phone rings off the hook," I groaned, attempting to get up. Two days after we have arrived in Los Angeles and I'd left the house twice. Riker had his job interview in a couple of days and Creighton was on my ass about getting myself a job, but I saw no reason why I should other than to just listen to him. I picked myself off of the floor and back into bed next to Rike, who eyed me as I replaced myself in the empty sheets next to him. "Mmmm," He smiled, reaching over to grab me. "Morning." "Morning," I said in reply, cuddling up closely to him.

I sat quietly with my eyes closed, imagining we were back in Baltimore sleeping in on a Saturday in Riker's apartment, coffee brewing on its timer, and the city traffic right out the window. "I met a couple of the neighbors yesterday." Riker said, ripping me back into reality. "Joy..." I said, keeping my eyes closed. "They're nice people, Harp, you should meet them too." "Maybe." I replied. "I already told them I have a fiancee named Harper, and the woman said she was so excited to have another young woman to join their group." He said interestedly. I nearly cringed the word "fiancee" "Group?" I asked. "They go do things, social outings, wine tastings, yoga on the beach, that kind of stuff you and Rydel would do together." "Exactly. Rydel and I do that, I don't need to do that with any California people..." I sighed, rolling out of his grasp.

"You could give it a chance." He replied over my shoulder as I rolled out of bed and towards our bathroom, I sighed, "Not likely." I stepped into our bathroom and closed the door, starting the shower. "May I join you?" A voice said as I took off Riker's shirt that I had slept in. "I guess." I said, stepping into the water. Riker stepped out of his boxers and into the shower with me, giving me a tight kiss and moving my goosebumped hips closer to his own. "Not now Riker, please." I said, turning away from him to grab my shampoo. "Okay..." He nodded, respecting my words. "Thanks," I washed my hair and switched with him in our spacious shower. There were two shower heads, but we had no clue how to make one of them work, so unless we were just playing around in the shower, we had to switch to wash our hair and stuff.

I turned the water off and got out, replacing my towel around my body. "Babe..." He said, drying himself off with his towel, "Is everything okay? You have been so off since we got here..." He asked me. I looked from the floor up to his concerned eyed, "I'm alright," I said, putting a towel around my hair. "I don't believe you," He waltzed over to where I was. His towel hung low around his waist and it was all I could not to rip it off of him, even in my shitty mood. "Come on," He said, "Talk to me,"

I went into our closet and grabbed underwear and clothes, putting them on and carefully avoiding Riker's gesture. "Harper..." He said to me, "Come on." He begged. I rolled my eyes, "I just thought I wouldn't end up back here again, Okay? I didn't have the best memories here." I shuddered. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked me, stepping into our closet we shared. "I don't know." I said, contemplating. "I'm here for you Harp, if you want to talk I want to listen." He whispered, taking my hand. "Let me just get dressed." He smiled sweetly, "And We'll drink some coffee and we can talk okay?"He suggested. I nodded, suddenly overcome with happiness at his small gesture, "Okay," I said to him. He smiled, putting on a shirt that I loved on him. Then I did something I never do, I leaned up to Riker, and I kissed him. And that was the first time we looked like we loved each other.
