josh ran the water in the tub. "takeout will be here in about five minutes." he said, looking at the time on his phone.

"okay." i said, feeling the water and flicking it at him.

there was a knock on the door, and he went to go open it while i let the bathtub fill up a little more.

"um, tyler?" josh called.

i grabbed my crutches and walked over to josh. "what is it?"

he cleared his throat. i looked in the doorway, and it was zoey.

zoey.

zoey.

zoey.

"are you serious? josh is the guy you've been seeing?" her face was red.

"zoey–"

"no, tyler. i told you that i liked josh, and here you are. did you run out of people to fuck? because you have literally been with everyone, and you couldn't just let me have one person that you hate? you really just had to have everyone, you fucking slut. you were literally in the hospital for getting dicked down."

i blinked back tears. "zoey, come on. please, just let me explain–"

"you don't have to."

she walked away down the hallway, and i ditched my crutches and hopped after her, grabbing her hand.

she flinched away. "don't touch me, faggot." she snapped out, and i knew she didn't mean it. she didn't. she couldn't have.

"just let me explain. i'm sorry. it happened way before you told me you liked josh–"

"and you didn't think to stop afterwards?"

i bit my lip. why didn't i stop? "you can't tell anyone about this. don't do it for me. do it for josh, please. i'm sorry, zoey."

she scoffed. "i should've never became friends with a slutty fag like you. you only ever cared about yourself." she kept walking.

i choked back a sob. "zoey!"

she didn't look back.

josh wrapped his arms around me. he must've followed us. i pushed him away and hit his chest, but he grabbed my arms and pulled me into a tight hug, kissing the top of my head. i wrapped my arms around his waist.

we walked back into the apartment, and josh carried me to our bed.

i guess he drained our bath along with our plans then came back and lied down next to me.

"it'll be alright. she'll look pass this."

"it wasn't even that big of a crush." i muttered, wiping my eyes with the back of my hand.

"she's just upset right now. she didn't mean anything."

"maybe. it's not like i intended to like you."

he hummed in response, and the door was being knocked on again.

josh left to go open it then came back moments later with a bag of takeout.

"still hungry?"
