It was Friday and I had planned to take a walk, and find some nice things to snap pictures of in the future; until I got a text.
From: Jake
"Hey Jessica, its Jake. I was wondering if you wanted to get that drink later."
From: Jessica
"I would love to. What time?"
From: Jake
"Really? Great! Meet at the bar at 7:00. If that time is ok with you."
From: Jessica
"Yeah, that sounds great. I'll meet you there."
Now I was getting really nervous. What do I wear? What color? How much makeup? I was freaking out. I didn't really wear dresses ever, but decided to wear one tonight. I chose a cream colored dress with flowers on it. I wasn't a big makeup person but I did put a little on. I started walking to the bar.
It was already dark. The days were still a little short because it wasn't summer yet. There was hardly anybody out walking anywhere; which was weird all in itself. It was Friday night in the city. Where is everybody? I thought.
I suddenly find a flyer on the ground and practically stepped on it.
"CONCERT!" It read. The flyer was dirty and dusty, but I was still able to make out the small print.
"April 20th. That's tonight. That must be where everybody is at." I said to myself. I let go of the flyer leaving it where I found it and continued walking. The traffic was so loud. I was almost used to it after these couple weeks and learned to tune it out.
It was kind of nice, to be able to walk in peace. But it all went to hell. This cool, peaceful night, that I was looking forward to, turned into what would soon be the worst weekend and days of my life.
As I continued walking on the bare, gloomy streets when someone pulled me into an alley. It was way too dark to make make out who it was. I could only tell that he had a dark hoodie on and boots with jeans. He pushed me up against the brick wall of the building, putting his hand over my mouth and pointing a gun at me.
"Don't scream, or run, or resist me. I will shoot you. Understood?" I didn't say anything, still froze in place. He hit me with his pistol. I closed my eyes in pain for a few seconds.
"Understood?" He asked again. I nodded in agreement.
"Good. I'm going to remove my hand, and I swear to god if you say anything or move at all, I will shoot you. Ok?"I nodded. He removed his hand and all I could do is breathe; because when he had his hand over my mouth, it was partly covering my nose. He stepped back, still pointing the gun at me.
"You ready?" He asked.
"I'm meeting a friend just around the corner, they are going to come looking for me." I say hoping he will back off.
"You think I give a fuck? Plus, I know that nobody will come looking for you, because I know everything about you and who you are meeting"
