Chapter 13

Jake's POV

Have you ever thought about What goes through a childs head? Well that's what I'm thinking as I watch Aidyn closely as he tried to eat his toy. I was in wolf form laying down outside with my son while Rylee was at the store. I was on alert but I also got curious.

How weird is this. I wagged my tail and grabbed a stick and gave it to Aidyn while wagging my tail. He giggled and threw it as far as he could considering he was only 1.

I ran over and grabbed it and set it in front of him and howled wagging my tail. He copied my howl the best he could. He was talking a lot more.

"Jake."

I turned and looked at Rylee. I pranced over to her and sat down.

"Why are you in wolf form."

I growled in response. I turned around and ran over to Aidyn, standing over him.

"What's wrong?"

I growled at the woods only louder showing authority. I got a growl in response. Rylee ran over and set the bag down and stood behind me. A brown wolf jumped out growling at me. I growled louder snapping at him. I launched at him just as Rylee grabbed Aidyn and covered his eyes. Me amd the wolf fought a pretty damn good fight. I grabbed a hold of his neck and bit down until I tasted blood. I didn't let go until I felt his body go limp. I fell to the ground tired and in pain. It wasn't until I rolled onto my side that I noticed the huge gash in my side. I could feel myself getting weaker as each minute passed. Aidyn walked over to me and laid his head by the gash. Him being a baby touched it causing me to yelp. I watched as tears started to form in his eyes and his hands started to glow. That grabbed my attention. He placed his hands on my side where the gash was and slowly end the pain. I shifted and looked at my side and back at Rylee.

"Did you just see that?"

"Yeah Aidyn healed you."

"That's nuts."

"I could tell you where he got the powers."

"Where?"

"Me."

"What?"

"He got his powers from me. I am the daughter of the moon goddess. I have the powers of water and they can heal anyone."

"No joke?"

"No joke."

I got up and grabbed my shorts putting them on before picking up Aidyn. I walked over to Rylee who stood on the steps looking at me. I bent down and gave her a kiss before we walked in the house with Aidyn.

"I love you Rylee."

"I love you too Jake."

I gave her another kiss before setting Aidyn down.

"Who hurt you?"

"Huh?"

"Who hurt you?"

"No one."

"Don't lie. I can feel it through the mate bond."

"I got told I wasn't good enough for Beta Female."

"Who ever told you that is wrong. You are more then enough for Beta Female."

She smiled her beautiful smile making Aidyn and I smile.

"I know that wasn't the real reason so tell me the truth. Who hurt you?"

"It wasn't a who. Dad died in a rouge attack."

"As in the old Alpha?"

She nodded with tears in her eyes. I gave her a quick kiss before giving her Aidyn.

"Where are you going?"

"Pack house."

I shifted outside and ran off. I heard her get in the car since she doesn't shift when I am. I ran toward the pack house shifting and grabbing a pair of shorts and a jacket before running in.

"Blake!"

He stopped what he was doing and walked over to me.

"Is it true?"

"Yes it is. He's gone Jake."

My heart sank. He taught me how to fight after my parents died. He taught me everything I know. He may have been Blake and his siblings father but he helped me become the wolf I am. I felt my eyes start to water as I ran out and shifted running off.

I got to my special spot with my clothes in my mouth before sitting down. I howled a pain filled howl. I heard others follow. I laid down feeling nothing but pain at the moment.

The Alpha. Blake's dad. He's gone and he was the one that taught me how to defend myself when I got bullied. He taught me everything while I grew up.

I heard footsteps behind me and got up and turned around quickly. I was ready to pounce but saw it was Rylee. I laid back down and laid my head on my paws. I heard her soft steps walk over before she laid beside me. Her steps were so soft you can barely hear them. Even with wolf hearing.

She made it to where my head was on hers. I whined and licked her on her ear.

I know you miss him. I miss him too.

I know but he was the closest thing to a father I had after my dad died.

I know. He was a man evsryone loved. He wasn't just my dad but he was like a dad to everyone in the pack. The whole pack knows how you feel Jake.

I know. But Aidyn will never know how amazing he was.

The best thing we can do is tell him how amazing his grandfather was.

I nodded and got up with her following shortly. I heard a scream and took off. Only one thing was going through my mind and that was my son's safety. I watched Rylee zoom past her and I pushed hard to stay close to her.

When I got there I saw her shifted and in clothes. I walked over as she held our son in her arms as she cried.

"Aidyn."

I shifted and put my shorts and jacket on. I stood beside her and saw the blood rushing out of him.

"You have to heal him Rylee."

"I've never healed something this bad before Jake."

"You have to try. For the sake of his sister."

She nodded and ran inside and let the water run in the sink. She laid Aidyn on the counter before closing her eyes. She let her hands hover over Aidyn as she stayed concentrated very hard. I watched as the water came and made some kind of shield around Aidyn.

I backed up shocked. Soon he was perfectly fine while Rylee grabbed onto the counter.

"Rylee, are you okay?"

"Yeah. I'm just tired."

I nodded and Aidyn giggled looking at us. Rylee smiled and hugged Aidyn to her with tears in her eyes. I walked over to them and wrapped my arms around them letting out a sigh of relief knowing my family is okay.
