Clarity

Silence envelopes the empty space.

Calming loud of clarity dimming away with time.

Perhaps, the isolation finally worked it's way through?

A small smile crept upon her face.

'Of course the voice would speak back...I'm loosing my mind.'

She curled into a ball on this cold floor.

Forgetting the shattered stone.

The space between words laying bare, that she was indeed alone.

"Maybe, losing my mind will make me less lonely..."

' Not that it will make a difference.'

"You can self degrade all you want, however you should know I can hear you."

Digging her face into her knees she curled tighter.

"Then... Do what everyone else is...don't listen."

" Then stop mumbling."

"Go someplace else."

'I'm having an argument with. Nonexistent man...'

" Why not you?"

"I can't, non of your business."

" Sound like you refuse, and your right it's not yet I am forced to hear your whining."

" I am not whining. Why would I want to be around people who want nothing to do with my red eyes?"

"Why do you care...for which is so small?"

'...ah? So....small?'

Memories surface and fade slowly.

"Are you implying, your  weak? Or perhaps you enjoy letting them have power over you?"

"That's...not it!"

"You say it, but you refuse to believe it. There's no greater lie than the one you tell yourself."

"...so what if my eyes are red...I...like them.....what's wrong with them?... everyone hates.... them.....'

"...I see, it's no wonder your whining made it all the way here."

"Not... whining..."

" Your sniffling is ruining my peace...stop it."

"...so... Why can I hear ...you anyway?"
