Elizabeth's POV ~

"Who is that?" Luke hissed, jumping out of the bathroom in just a towel.

"It's our breakfast. I just called housekeeping 20 minutes ago." Aurora chuckled, running to the door.

I sat up in bed, still feeling groggy from sleep and watched as Aurora brought in the food and set it down on the table.

"Fuck, you look rough Liz." Luke gasped, popping back out of the bathroom with a pair of mesh shorts on.

"Thanks." I grumbled, getting up and grabbing a water bottle I had put in the freezer last night.

I wrapped a hand towel around it and rested it against my forehead.

"Sorry, that came out more insensitive than I thought." Luke apologized.

"It's fine. I just didn't sleep well last night, I've got a headache, and I feel like it's 500 fucking degrees in here." I groaned.

"Aww, my poor thing." Aurora sighed, coming over to me and giving me a large hug.

"Thank you." I whispered.

"Of course, now come eat. Maybe getting something into your stomach will help you feel better." Aurora told me.

I followed her directions and sat down with the two of them around the wooden dining table. I grabbed a glass of orange juice as well as some eggs and a piece of toast with jam, trying to focus on anything but the banging in my head.

"Well, let's take a minute to focus on the good things. We made it through the night safe and sound." Luke pointed out sitting down next to me.

"Don't get cocky." I warned him.

"Don't get too wrapped up in the negative aspect of things." He replied.

"One of Chris' little minions was at my house last night, trying to keep us there. It's a little hard to look at the rainbow and unicorns in the universe when there are murderous vampires around." I hissed.

Aurora gave me that look that said I was sounding like a deranged psycho, but it was true, as fucking crazy as it sounded.

I know they hadn't seen any true proof of the whole vampire thing, so while they told me they believed me because it made sense, I knew they wouldn't be fully on board with me until they saw it themselves. However, my hope for both of them was that they would never have to actually witness that.

After a few bites I sat back in my chair and I made the quick realization that nothing was agreeing with my stomach.

I tried to sit it out and play cool, but after another minute or two I pushed my chair back from the table and sprinted to the bathroom.
