"For fuck's sake, just relax!" I yelled at the class of young male fledglings as they looked frightened by my presence.
It didn't help that they were in training to be the security detail for our home here at St. Vladimir's.
"It's just that...um, I say this with all respect, but you've kind of killed a shit ton of fledglings lately." Vinny, the class clown told me.
I rolled my eyes at him. While he could be a total dipshit most of the time, I had to hand it to him, he knew how to do his job when it came down to it. Had he been at the gate, I probably wouldn't have the Elizabeth problem I now had.
"Are you afraid to die?" I asked him.
"No. I was just told to shut the fuck up when you got here." He shrugged his shoulders.
"How about the rest of you? Who of you are afraid to die?" I posed the question to the class.
No one raised their hand.
"Good." I said.
"A man is never afraid to die if it's for family, friends, or his position." Sam, one of the oldest fledglings stated.
I froze once I heard those words. That ice was quickly melted by my anger at this younger male.
"If you ever quote my father in front of me again, I'll fucking murder you in the most brutal way I can think of. Is that understood?" I hissed at him, grabbing his shirt's collar in my hand.
"Oh shit. I'm so sorry, Sir. I forgot St. Vladimir was of relation to you." He gasped, clearly frightened to death.
"Forget it again, and the world will forget your existence." I growled, pushing his desk back so that he went flying into the back wall.
"Tell your imbecile students that if they want to graduate from St. Vladimir's or live long enough to do so, they should fucking pay attention in class, and next time when Elizabeth is here, keep her here!" I seethed, slamming the door shut once I left his room.
"Woah, what's up?" TJ asked as I headed out of the school.
"I need to go and clear my head for a while. I'll be back later tonight, tell Ryan he's in charge." I said.
"Oh, ok. If you need anything, text me." TJ replied.
"Get an Elizabeth update from Shane, I want it as detailed as he can get." I told him, shutting the door behind me.
My car was parked only a few feet from the entrance, and I knew I just had to get out of here for a few hours. My mind had been so scattered this past week that Elizabeth has been gone, and being reminded of my fucking dad wasn't a great way to cheer me up. Considering it was me that killed the poor bastard, it was just throwing on another layer of guilt I felt.
