Alice:
The room goes quite as the lights suddenly shut off. Alright here we go. "What is this? What's going on?" Matt yells, panic and anger filling his voice. I let out a low whimper, causing Scott to glance down in my direction.
"I don't know." Scott responds, and that's when the room gets filled with a blinding light from outside.
In a second I'm shoved underneath a desk, Scott over me as a shield from the heavy stream of bullets. Well, at least they brought in the heavy artillery.
The bullets stop only to be quickly followed by by the loud thud of something hitting the ground. Ah shit.
Smoke starts to heavily fill the room, before I can even register enough time to cough, I'm pulled out from under the desk.
"Come on." Scott instructs, leading me towards another room. I follow closely behind him, only losing him when he rams into the Kanima, before quickly running into the room Stiles and Derek are still in. I reach the doorway, and that's when a overwhelming feeling of dizziness hits me like a two ton truck.
I lean on the door way and steady myself. Scott, who was picking Stiles up from the ground, looks up at me. "Are you--" He starts but I quickly cut him off with a nod, as I walk over to Derek's side.
Reaching for his hand, I grab onto it. "You need to go with Scott." He instructs. In any other situation I would have told him off for trying to boss me around. Instead I nod and kiss him on the cheek before quickly heading over to Scott and Stiles who were waiting by the door.
The three of us rush down hallway after hallway, with me shutting the door behind us in hopes of buying us some time from the Kanima that's way to close behind us for my liking. "Scott. He keeps on breaking the doors!" I yell out in panic, shutting another door behind us.
We rush through one more door into an empty room. I look to Scott, who's setting Stiles down into a chair. "Don't move." He tells Stiles, earning an eye roll from the still paralyzed teen. "Just stay here, I'll be back soon." Scott rushes out the door, not leaving any room for either Still or I to protest.
I lock the door and step back away from it. "How long have you been hanging around Derek?" Stiles abruptly asks, breaking the silence in the room. Really, he's choosing right now to ask something like that.
"Well I haven't actually hung out with him. It's been more like he just randomly shows up." I answer truthfully, taking the seat next to Stiles. He makes an irritated noise at the mention of Derek randomly showing up.
I smile in an attempt not to smirk and look over to him. "I'm guessing he's done that to you too?" His only answer is to roll himself off the ground, which causes him to successfully let out a groan of pain. My eyebrows raise in surprise before I quickly kneel down next to him.
"You need to stay still. Are you okay?"
"I need to get to my dad." He protests, dragging himself towards the door. This kid definitely has courage if he's willing to drag himself around a police station filled with hunters and supernatural creatures, either that or he's just plain out stupid.
"Alright let's--let's just try not to die." I try to joke, quickly picking him up and throwing his arm over my shoulder. If it wasn't for all my training I'm sure I would be having a much harder time right now. Unlocking the door, I open it before peering outside to make sure the coast is clear.
"He's in the holding cells." Stiles informs me. I nod and start walking in that direction. Turning a corner, I stop in my tracks, hearing a very loud hiss near by. Before Stiles has any time to protest I sit him down against the wall.
"Stiles, I'm probably doing something really stupid right now, but I'm going to lead it away from you." I quickly say before standing up.
"What? That is definitely an extremely stupid--"
I don't let him finish as I run towards another part of the station. Only thing is I'm not heading for the Kanima, I'm heading for the exit. No I'm not a coward who's leaving Stiles to fend for himself, if anything I'm keeping him safe because even if the Kanima did spare me once, I'm still a killer which means that it will come after me again.
Avoiding the hunters, I run down a path in the woods. I know, I know, probably not the safest thing to do but it's not exactly like I'm weak and defenseless. After a few minutes I stop in my tracks. My head starts to spin causing so I lean onto a nearby tree for support. Dammit, not now.
I lift up the edge of my shirt to check on the small device by my hip. This thing helps deliver my medication to me so that I won't have to be constantly stabbing myself every two minutes. My head shoots up, when a branch cracks loudly a few feet away.
"Derek." I call out. He steps into the moonlight leading me to believe that he just can't help himself from making a dramatic entrance. I'd ask if that's a Hale thing, but I'm fairly certain that would be a inappropriate thing to ask with the fact that all his family is dead because of mine. No matter how amusing it would be for me.
I rush over to him, and he quickly wraps his arms around me. "I didn't want to be scared because I didn't want to pass out or something." I admit quietly, as I rest my head on his chest. "But I couldn't help it."
"Trust me I wanted to rip his throat out with my teeth when I saw him yanking you out of the room." He tells me. I let out a small chuckle in response.
"This has been the absolute worst night of my life with what happened at the station, and with my mom....." I trail off, his body stiffens and I look up curiously at him. That's right, feel guilty for what you did.
I let my eyes go wide. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable." I quickly apologize. He looks down at me and slowly shakes his head.
"No it's alright." He reassures, planting a kiss on my head. Derek lets out a heavy sigh as I snuggle closer to his chest.
"Alice." He starts, I look up to meet his eyes but he's looking away. "I, we can't keep seeing each other. Even if it is just by accident." He continues to ignore my gaze as he stares at a set spot.
"What why?" I ask hurriedly. "Is it because of my family." Letting out a sniffle I push away from him.
He doesn't protest, instead letting his arms fall to his side. "No, it's to keep you safe." He replies. I shake my head and let a few silent tears fall down my face.
"Please don't do this." I plea, tears streaming down my face. "Please don't leave me alone like everyone else has."
He takes a step forward, wiping my tears away with his thumb. "It's for your own good." Derek states. I start to cry till the point that my eyes are too blurry to see through anymore.
I can feel him slowly staring to take his hand off my cheek. "My mom and basically the rest of my family just left me. You have no idea how much I need you right now Derek Hale." I yell out in a desperate and sad voice.
Saying this must have made something inside of him snap, because next thing I know his lip are on mine, his hands around my waist pulling my close to him. I immediately kiss back wrapping my hands around his neck.
He slowly pulls away, looking down at me with an unreadable, even for me, expression on his face. "I guess we'll just figure something out." He says.
Hook, line, and sinker.
I let a happy smile form on my face as he uses his sleeve to wipe away the stray tears off my face. "Thank you." I whisper, huddling in closer to him. He places his chin on my head, letting out a short sigh.
What he doesn't see is the smirk on my face. Oh Derek Hale you have no idea what you're in for, no idea at all.
