It was half a year after the evil dragon Smaug and Azog the Defiler were defeated and peace was restored (at least for now) to Middle Earth. Thorin Oakenshield was on the throne as King Under the Mountain as he rightfully should be and Erebor was a flourishing kingdom. Enter Allia Lightfeather, named for being an exceptionally talented seamstress and the king's personal clothes maker. She was a friendly, kind-hearted, and intelligent dwarvess loved by all who knew her. She was sweet and innocent and Thorin found that every time he stopped by for an order or just to talk, the king would fall for her more and more.

So when a grand ball was announced to celebrate the king's official coronation (although that had happened a month ago), Thorin knew exactly who he wanted to invite as his date- problem was, he wasn't sure how  to ask Allia. So he went to her workshop and struck up a friendly conversation, albiet nervously and stumbling for words very often. When Allia sweetly inquired what was wrong, he blurted that he just needed fancy robes for the upcoming ball. Allia obviously agreed and started working on it right away, a flurry of activity, and Thorin slipped away quietly.

Now, Allia also found herself attracted to the king of Erebor in return, but was completely clueless on his affections towards her. She was quite innocent in the means of love and had no idea how to control of confess her emotions. As she made the robes for Thorin, she found herself fantasizing her dancing with him in a beautiful ball gown while the other dwarven ladies watched in awe and jealousy. Of course, that will never happen, she told herself and snapped out of the daydream.

The next day, the robes were finished and Thorin stopped by the seamstress workshop to pick them up. He was fidgeting awkwardly as he waited for Allia to sew on the last button and she again asked him what was of the matter. He confessed he needed one favor- and she immediately said she'd do it, if course. Thorin admitted he needed a stunning gown for his date to the ball and Allia's heart sank, thinking he'd already found a beautiful dwarvess to court who wasn't she, but still feigned excitement to make such a lovely gown. When she asked for the lady to come and get her measurements taken, Thorin insisted she had the same measurements as Allia. Exactly the same. She still didn't get the hint. Thorin left with a soft sigh, wondering how she could be so innocent and hoping dearly she'd realize what he'd meant.

It took Y/N three days of almost non-stop work to create her dream ball gown. It was F/C with sparkling F/G embellishments. It was cut just perfect to fit Allia's daydreams and went with a set of S/F/G necklace, earrings, and bracelet. The crowning piece was a tiara with a F/G inset, perfect for the king's love. Allia adored the entire outfit and pretended to joke of wishing to wear it when Thorin came to pick it up the evening of the ball. He looked quite dashing in his fancy robes and Allia could hardly hold back a blush at the wishful notion of dancing with him that night.

When Thorin refused to take the gown, Allia fretted, afraid if wasn't good enough, but the king boldly confessed the dress had been for her all along. Allia laughed at how stupid she had been by not realizing before and, now blushing deeply, went to change into the lovely outfit. Her sister, a dwarvess maid, was also well-loved in the kingdom, came to help Allia with her makeup and hair. A half hour later, Allia turned to look in the mirror- and saw a gorgeous dwarvess staring back with a soft smile. She was drop dead stunning and ready for the ball.

When she practically floated down the stairs into the ballroom, all Thorin could do was stare at her beauty. She seemed shy from all the attention and stares she was receiving and hurried over to Thorin, her cheeks flushed becomingly. He was still speechless for a long moment, then simply smiled and pulled her gently onto the dance floor.

The two dwarves, deeply in love, swayed, twirled, and smiled the night away.
