~Draco's POV~

I walked with Tessa through the front lawn. She was silent, staring at her feet. I could tell that she was still upset about Cedric. I didn't know what to do. What to say to her.

I silently wrapped an arm around her waist. She looked up at me in surprise.

"Now now young lady. We both know I'm the only guy you're allowed to think about" I scolded her playfully.

She laughed half-heartedly, smiling for a split second, my smile faded.

"Tessa I know you miss him. I know it hurts." I said, stopping our steady pace to look straight at her.

She looked at me silently for a moment, then a few tears fell from her eyes.

"I could've done something to stop it. I could've saved him but I didn't do anything, I just let it happen" she sobbed. I frowned and hugged her close to me.

"Shh... Tess... It's not your fault... None of this is your fault..." I said, holding her close, "he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. There's nothing you could've done to prevent it"

She wept softly into my chest, I placed my chin on her head as she cried. I shushed her quietly, whispering more soothing words in her ear.

This wasn't making me happy. This could never make me feel anything but anguish. Tessa was a light in my life. And it seemed like it'd been stamped out.

Finally, her crying seemed to slow as she pulled away from me and looked up at me, tears on her rosey cheeks.

I kissed her forehead and gently wiped away her tears.

"We best be going. We don't want to miss the carriages." I said softly, "mind sitting with me on the train?"

She smiled, only a little. "Of course I don't mind"

I smiled and led her to the carriages.

~Time Skip~
~Tessa's POV~

I stared out the window silently as the train chugged closer to King's Cross.

Draco laid on the bench next to me, his head in my lap. I messed with his hair silently.

Memories replayed in my head as I stared out the window.

Cedric's lifeless eyes, Voldemort's cold grin, Harry being tortured before my very eyes. Being tortured myself

Draco's soft snores interrupted my thoughts, I looked down at him. He'd fallen asleep. A small smile came to my face as I watched him sleep.

There was a small smile on his face as he slept, his hair was messy because I was playing with it. His tie was untied and his jacket rested on the bench across from us. He usually wore formal things like this.

I looked out the window again and I saw King's Cross approaching.

I looked down at Draco and gently poked his face. He swatted my hand away. I giggled and poked his cheek once more. He groaned and swatted me away once more.

"Draco you need to wake, we've arrived" I said to him in a low whisper.

"Carry me then.." he mumbled, turning over. I stifled a laugh.

"As if I could. C'mon Draco... Wake up... Let me see those eyes" I said poked him again.

He grabbed my hand and kissed it gently. Then he curled my fingers into a fist, except for the index finger, and he pushed my hand to my lips.

"Shh..." He said

I laughed and pushed him off of me. He yelped in surprise.

"Awake now?" I asked him

He sat up and glared at me. I snickered. He quickly got up and tackled me onto the bench.

I let out a cry of surprise and looked up at him.

"Bad girl. I think you may have hurt me a little" he said in a low growl.

"Did I?" I asked.

He nodded and leaned down to kiss me. When his lips were at least a centimeter from mine, the compartment door slid open.

Draco looked up at the door and I looked at it upside down.

Harry stood there with a look of disgust on his face.

"Get off of her. We're here" he said, glaring at Draco.

The Platinum haired boy rolled his eyes and sat up. He pulled me up too and looked at Harry.

"Can always count on you to ruin the fun, can't we Potter?" He sneered.

"Yes. Now c'mon." Harry said, walking off.

I stood up and helped Draco get our stuff down from the luggage holders above us.

We got off the train and ran through the barrier.

I frowned when I saw Harry standing next to Uncle Vernon. The time that I get to stay away from my horrid uncle is never long enough.

Harry made a hurry up motion with his hands as Uncle Vernon glared at Draco and me.

I sighed and looked up at Draco.

"I have to go. I promise I'll write. But if I don't go now, my retched uncle will be mad at me" I said to him.

Draco looked over at my uncle for a moment then looked at me, a smirk coming to his face.

I raised a brow

"Why don't we give him something to be mad about, hm?" He inquired.

"What do you- mm!" I made a small noise of surprise as Draco kissed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed back happily.

After a moment, I pulled away.

"I'm definitely going to miss that" I said softly. Draco chuckled

"Until next year" he said. I smiled and looked over at my Uncle, who looked like he was going to vomit.

"Until next year" I agreed.

Then I ran off to my Uncle.

"Who the hell is that?" He asked.

"Malfoy" Harry grumbled.

"That is a boy who is part of a very powerful wizarding family. The No Magic Until You're Seventeen rule doesn't apply to him. He likes to make sure I'm happy. And he has a bad temper" I explained

Uncle Vernon groaned and shut up. Harry chuckled

"Okay maybe Malfoy is a little helpful" he whispered.

I grinned as we left the station
