His refrigerator was stocked with: Italian bread, Alfredo pasta confined to a plastic container, a jar of pickles, eggs, tons of cow, fox and deer meat, opened tuna cans, a bag of potatoes, mayo, mustard, a half-eaten turkey sandwich, two dozen chocolate cupcakes topped with pink plastic birthday hats, kale, cabbage and a mini-box of strawberries.

I chose the box of strawberries, on the top it read: Rachel.

Maybe I shouldn't eat them. I pondered over the thought.

Zari stirred again as if to say: Fuck Rachel, we're hungry.

The smell of grass and burnt paper hit me as a girl with long dark hair with a single purple streak stopped close beside me to stare at me. I prayed silently that this was not Rachel and she would not mind sharing her strawberries because they were truly deliciously juicy.

"Who are you?" She questioned, eyeing me up and down.

The smell of sweet vanilla honey washed the burnt paper away; he glanced over at the girl with the purple then back at me. "Your father knows you are here and safe." He paused, turning his attention to the glaring girl. "Eva, is there a problem?"

"Sebastian, who is she?" Purple streak hissed sniffing me. "She smells like she doesn't belong."

I nodded. "Not surprised. I get that a lot. You smell like burnt paper and grass, do you get that a lot?" I popped another strawberry into my mouth feeling her dagger eyes sharpen as she took a moment to sniff herself.

My father never allowed me to eat anything sweet, he said it was not compatible with the medicine I was supposed to be taking. I tried to remind him that I stuff my face with Gummy Bears, but he failed to see my logic and said his word was the Bible so I better not question him. Probably why I liked Gummy Bears so much. It was the one thing I could rely on from neighboring human town.

"Sapphire." He told her, leading her away from me. "Alpha Christian's daughter."

"He doesn't have a daughter." She said, looking over at me with eyes full of hate.

I licked my lips tasting the strawberry juices. "He likes to keep me to himself. I'm kind of troubled when I really don't mean to be." I flashed a smile.

"Eva relax, I got this. Go get some rest, maybe shower..."

I bit back my chuckle. Did she stink to him too? Eva took one last look at me before walking out the slide door.

"She doesn't like me very much, does she? I can see all of your pack members are suspicious, uptight and so paranoid."

He nodded. "She is wary of outsiders, for good reason. We have been getting a lot of intruders lately. I figured this is what your father wants to discuss with me."

I shrugged. "I pick up information second hand. My father believes that I am his unicorn and I have no right to know about internal matters." I quickly wanted to change the subject. "Did he give you a time that he will arrive?"

He shook his head. "He doesn't like you extending your stay here and he wants you home but I told him we were mates then he screamed and hung up the phone."

I laughed. "I should go home now."

I walked over to him and smiled, holding out my hand for him."I hope to see you again."

He grabbed my hand, silently begging me to wait as his eyes met mine. He pulled me closer to him, leaning into his chest so our faces were inches apart.

Zari stirred. Move.

I ignored her, more focused on how Sebastian was making me feel. "Wow you're strong." I mumbled. "You're close and you're strong-really freaking close and strong." His scent was all consuming, intoxicatingly pleasant.
