Sebastian's POV
"Is it Nick?" Star asked me.
"No." I mumbled, opening the door. "So close to having you, always so close then some idiot wants to interrupt. The idiot girl wants to die today."
I came down the stairs seeing Annabelle. The sight of her always set a fire in my eyes, involuntarily my hands became fists, the hair stood up on my neck and I wanted her to leave as soon as she appeared.
"What are you doing?" I yelled, startling her.
She was too clean to participate in the hunt. I could see droplets on the tips of her hair as turned around to bow. Holding a black bag to her side, I looked at her suspiciously.
"My apologies, Alpha. I just needed a couple of things from my room."
Liar. I hated liars; she was up to something my gut was never wrong.
"So, you decided to leave the hunt?" I pressed, watching her twitch with annoyance.
She avoided eye contact whispering. "It was important."
"Tell me the importance, explain what is more important than serving your pack."
Let's see what lies come next. Give me a clue, so I can have an excuse to slit your throat before more lies come spilling out.
Her eyes fixed onto me with my favorite expression. The look of my enemy; her words laced with hate and venom. "You aren't my Alpha. I hate the lot of you-growling, demanding, humping me at every turn. I've been cleaning your shit and I am sick of it!"
Yes!
"How about I kill you, put you out of your misery?"Sapphire blinked in front of me, standing protectively. Her shoulders were tense, although her arms were at her side, her hands were open facing outward.
"Always to the rescue."
"Sapphire?"
"Just trust me." She kept her eyes on Annabelle, stepping towards her. She breathed out deeply as Annabelle laughed. "What else have you been up to, Annabelle? Have you been killing, planting evidence, framing innocent people maybe?"
Where ? Was she holding out on information again? I wanted to curse, but I knew this wasn't the right time.
"You think you are so smart, so perfect." Annabelle's demeanor changed. She grew angry, but held a demented smile as she matched Sapphire's lightning speed, whispering something in her ear.
The pair moved swiftly and smoothly, matching in speed, Sapphire stretched Annabelle's hand to reveal a knife, once her grip loosen blue powder invaded the air causing Sapphire to go limp.
I moved to catch her, but her body collapsedwith a thud, as Annabelle held me by my throat. She tsked, showing off her fangs.
"What to do with you? Hm, well I know what I want to do."
I elbowed her arm, breaking the hold punching her in the face, the blow sent her stumbling back crashing into the pans on the counter. I glanced over at Star, peacefully sleeping, but quickly focused my attention on the leech recovering.
I knew Annabelle wasn't going to allow us to run, so I needed to deal with her first. She needed to die.
"I can't believe you would hit me." She frowned, seeming hurt like I should care.
She was fast, moving behind me she sang the word: sleep. With the faint touch of her lips on my cheek, my body obeyed foolishly despite my will.
"Hey...Sebastian...Sebastian..." I smiled, hearing the warmth of Sapphire's voice. I loved her saying my name, whether she was moaning or yelling it made no difference to me.
