Sebastian's POV
"Are you alright?"
This was my fifth time asking as we continued off the path through the storm.
"Do you have brain damage?" She scoffed, gracefully moving forward having me in tow. "I apologize if I damaged your already stupid, damaged brain."" I am asking so I know whether or not to protect my vital organs. You did kill four Alphas."
"I killed four Alphas." She said plainly. "Are you taking back what you said?"
"Say more words." I stopped, lifting my arm from her neck to rest on a nearby tree. It was taking me longer than expected to heal, my insides might as well be mixed with table salt as they sting to heal.
She looked to her feet, a thing she did when she was unsure of herself. "I...I will need to feed again." She looked up at me, annoyed but it was not directed to me. "Either you drain me or stop me but my appetite will grow."
I thought you would have learned by now. Sneaking into her mind, I smirked at the futile attempt to push me out.We are mated now. The rules are different. I picked through her inner thoughts hearing Annabelle sing: drink, drink, drink. I found her, after our fight, paralyzed unable to walk, so she crawled using her arms to eat from the earth.
"Stay out of my head." She yelled at me, dangerously beautiful blues now annoyed with me.
"Why were you eating dirt?" Amused, I could not erase the smile from my face.
"Can we go now?" She pulled on my shirt and marched angrily forward.
"What did you mean about what I said before?"
"Nothing."
"We have a long way to the Stone house. There is no reason why it has to be unpleasant, especially once I am healed we can have make-up sex afterwards." I blew in her ear.
"I will leave you." She jokingly threatened.
"Then how will you receive ultimate pleasure?"
She rolled her eyes, but the temptation was there. Heat radiated from her skin, despite the cold conditions we continued to walk in. I could see the flush in her cheeks. If she was going to be upset with me anyway, I mind as well do something to earn her scoffing and annoyance.
"Do drainers have sharp fangs or is that a myth?"
"You have killed many. Have you not checked for yourself?"
"No, their dead bodies were enough. I didn't care."
"And you ask now because?"
"Because we have a long journey and I want to talk to you. Unless you want to tell me what is upsetting you, I can ask you questions."
She smiled, showing my favorite dimple. "The newborns do. You can think of it like baby teeth. The fangs eventually are molded as the venom matures in the gums. It takes a decade or two. Trevor did experiments on them; he was amazed and terrified of what he could not understand." She showed me her teeth, opening wide.
Her teeth were pearly white perfect, no overlaps, gaps or odor. Her canines were thick, healthy and dangerously prepared to rip through an aorta.
"I have no fangs. I don't recall having them." She paused for a moment, as if digging through her moments for validation. She scrunched up her nose with a frustrated sigh then chose to change the subject. "Why are we going to the Stone House? Why not back home?"
"I need to drain you. I can't do that with prying eyes."
"Are you sure?"
She stopped, touching the tree trunk to sniff.
