I stay planted in amazment, as Karen walks along the gate sliding her hand up and down. Pressing spots gingerly, and hesitating before moving on. The gate has golden locks of all sizes littered every where. It rose above me and looked like it had not end. Movement of chains and hidden gears captured my vision. It made clickes and grouns. As the gears clicked they became silver and bronze. My eyes catch a flame, I turn my head around to see where the flame came from, the only thing was a hand on my shoulder. I turn my head back, A HAND my mind yells.
I looked down at my shoulder to see flames. I let out a petrified screach and fall to the floor. After of moments screaming I realized that the flames that licked me, left no harm. It was just a slight tickle. The flames licked my chin and shoulder, and smoke filled my nose. The smoke starts to fill my nostrils lightly. No worries right?
I look over at Karen, her hair was messy and barely in a ponytail, her face was bloody and dirty. She was deep in thought, and still carefully pulling on the chains and pressing gears. I walk around examining the gate when all I smell is smoke. The smoke gets so think I can barely breathe. I turn my head to the opposite shoulder to get air. There was no escape. I started to cough, my throat scratched and raw. Then my vision began to tunnel and dim.
"Jack! Look out!" Comes from across the room. I instantly duck when I feel water dowse me. I am still in ducking position when Karen grabs the hand off my shoulder. I look up to Karen. I see her with the hand clutched to her chest, lip. The flames start to fade to nothing, all that is left was a bone structure made of stone. The stone was blackened at the tips but lighter at the palm.
Karen walked right pass me to the gate. She held the hand to the gate and the gate opened up . The chains turned to smoke and the gears into fog.
