Chapter 8 - Unedited

"Please send Opal to the office,"
I couldn't be more excited at the thought of getting out of this room. But why did I need to go to the office? Had they really found my necklace? Was I in trouble for something that happened last night?
"Will do," Asada waived towards me, pointing towards the door. I nodded my head and floored it for the door. She wasn't going to have to tell me twice to leave the room. I let out a quick breath as soon as I was out of the classroom. My heart racing at the thought of heading to the office.
Hopefully the reason I was sent to the office would be less scary than the thought of having the queen know I lost my necklace. My feet traveled fast across the floor. Rushing to get there as soon as possible so they wouldn't get frustrated. The longer they waited the worse the punishment could be. If there was even a punishment.
I quickly turned the corner before bursting through the office doors only to meet the familiar gentleman sitting in one of the chairs. His eyes lit up when he noticed me, a smile growing on his face. He was dressed in a white shirt and some light blue jeans, his bright orange necklace hanging from his neck. I shook my head, pulling my attention away from him before I head into Olyvya's office.
She seemed excited to meet me. When I walked through the door she jumped from her desk looking like she had the worlds greatest news.
"Oh sweet Opal you are more beautiful every sing day," She beamed as she pulls me in for a hug. I shook my head, I was never very good at accepting compliments.
"Thank you," I mumbled under my breath as I tried to take a seat in one of the benches next to her desk.
"Nope, we are heading back out here," I hopped up following her through the doors as she led me towards the boy I didn't want to hang out with, but at the same time needed to talk to.
"Damien, this is Opal, I'm sure you two met last night we our girl was crowned queen here," My cheeks flushed a bright red, as I felt the heat rising in my face. Why would she say something like that?
"Yes, she was very beautiful last night, as she is today," He mutters, his eyes never leaving mine. It felt like he was trying to talk to my soul, like he knew something I didn't know. Maybe he would be able to tell me what had happened yesterday. Hopefully he could feel in the blanks.
"Okay Damien enough of that," Olyvya turned to look at him, I could tell she was a little uncomfortable.
Honestly I was a little uncomfortable too. He shouldn't be flirting with me in front of one of the head mentors here. Especially not with me, considering they had practically raised me.
"Alright, so what am I doing here?" I tried my best to not sound annoyed but there was so much going on in my mind that I wanted to just scream. I wanted to run in a million circles and bash my head against a wall. Anything to get the thoughts to leave.
"Yes, very well, I've called you here to give Damien here the new student introduction, you are the best at doing it," She nodded her head as she spoke turning to grab Damien. She pulled him closer to me as if we were her kids, planting us next to each other. "Here is his class list, and everything you will need to know. Let him follow you to all of your classes today so he can get a feel for how the school works, tomorrow you can show him his," Olyvya turned waiving her hand. She must have a lot to do.
I glanced down at the papers. Looking for anything that actually mattered. The only thing was where his locker was. Everything else was pretty standard class schedule and lunch schedules.
I turned, shooting him a look before leaving the office and heading down the hallway. He paused for a moment before he decided to follow me. I could feel my pace was quicker than normal but I wasn't sure what to say to him. I had so many questions but I felt like none of them were appropriate for the hallway of our school.
"Where did you go last night?" Damien questions, popping his lips as he tried to feel the silence. I stopped dead in my tracks. What had he just said?
"What?" I question turning around to look at him. He took a quick step back as if he was nervous about something.
"After we kissed, you ran off and you were gone. I couldn't find you," He folded his arms, chomping on the gum he had in his mouth. I searched his eyes for any sign he was lying. If I wasn't with him where had I gone.
"That's none of your business," I felt the words weren't as strong as I had wanted them to be. My lips quivering with the realization I had been on my own after the kiss. I felt scared, my body shaking as my legs started to feel weak. Something bad had happened and I couldn't figure out what it was.
How was I going to figure out what had happened after the kiss?
"Yes it is," He muttered, looking around the hallway. I turned trying to get away from him once again. Apparently I always ran away, my mind too focused on my actions last night. I wasn't with him? So where the hell had I been? What had I done? Where had I gone? The more I sat here the more I was confused on everything going on around me. I glanced up at the signs on the walls realizing I was in the completely wrong hallway.
"Shit...sorry," I muttered turning around and leading him back to the main hallway in the building. We walked for a moment in silence before he managed enough courage to ask me.
"So where did you go?"
