"You mean it got approved?" I felt the excitement building in my chest. Things had been so difficult emotionally for me the last week, but today I got the best news I could have ever dreamed of.

"Yes, we are allowing you a week to travel," Sammy smiles, her eyes scanning over a few papers as she slides them across the counter. I lean forward in the chair, my heart pounding in my chest. A silence dance party echoes through my brain as I try to hold my emotions inside. This meant I would be able to leave. I wouldn't ever return to the pod. I would be free, away from everything that I've been trapped by.

Soon I would be my own person. I wouldn't have to listen to anyone else, or follow any rules. It'd be me and the big open ocean. The thought of being on my own was exciting and nerve wrecking all at the same time. Like a child in a fright house for the first time.

There was a whole world of things that could happen and soon I would have to figure out how to mangage them all on my own.

I let out a deep breath of air as I thanked the lord that they hadn't looked too closely into my application for the time off though. If they would have they would know I wasn't actually going to search for my mother. I did my best to fill it out properly but Damien showed me the other day that I really had no clue what I needed to do.

"Thank you so much," I whispered, my voice much calmer than I had expected it to be. Sammy pointed at the line I would have to sign on the contract, as she drones on about all of the different rules I would have to follow while I was on vacation.

"Do you have someone you would like to go with you?" Sammy questions, pulling the paper away from me as I finish scribbling my signature. My heart freezes in my chest, the thoughts rushing through my head like a hurricane.

Yes... I did want someone to go with me, but unfortuantly we hadn't figured out his powers yet. It was best not to answer her question. If I said Damien and he didn't end up going with me then there would be questions, but if I didn't mention him and he did go with me then there woudl also be questions.

"I don't think so," I mumbled trying my best to make the best decision I could. I didn't know if I did though.

"Perfect, well the paperwork portion is all done, Asada said she is trying her best to have your necklace done before then, but you are a special girl and your magic is harder than others to harness,," I nodded my head. Thanking Sammy once more I left the rom heading towards the kitchen. Damien caught me in the crosswinds wrapping his arms around me as he pulled me close to him.

I let out a girly squeal, the excitement was too much to hold in. Soon Damien's lips were crashing against mine as he pulled me into a deep longing kiss. My heart was fluttering at a million miles a minute. The thought of leaving both destroying and exciting me at the same time.

"I got it!" I quickly shouted once he pulled away from the kiss.

"I knew you would," He whispered back, holding me in his arms as he looked down at me, holding me close. He leaned forward kissing me once more before pulling away from me. "So now what?" He questions. I shrug my shoulders, school was done for the day and we were no longer on dinner duty. I was too excited and nervous to eat. Part of me was really convinced that I was actually going on a journey to find my mother.

"I guess now I need to go pack my bags," I muttered, his eyes catching mine, making me forget the entire world around us. He nodded taking my hand as he led me towards the front door of the mansion.

We walk towards the dorms, Damien filling my ears with chatters about things I needed to do, and what my best chance was at finding my mother.

"First you will need your birth certificate, do you have access to that?" I shook my head trailing along behind him as he spoke. I wasn't prepared for any of the questions he was asking, my heart racing as I tried to answer them the best I could. Part of me wanted him to stop talking, to just leave it alone and allow us to finish our walk in silence. The dorms were just up the road and he had already given me a novel of information I needed to know.

"How do you know all of this stuff?" I question, doing my best to throw him off topic even if it was just slightly. He nodded his head for a second, stopping mid stride as if he was about to lay it all out for me.

"I went searching for my parents around three years ago when I turned seventeen. I didn't get much luck, especially since I was a minor, but I told myself if I ever attempted the search I would start over and do it the proper way," He shrugged looking down at the ground.

A dull pain filled my heart as I realized I had never taken the time to get to know Damien really. His interest always seemed to be filled with me and everything about me, but I hadn't given him that same respect back. I hadn't attempted to get to know him at all.

"I'm sorry to hear that," I looked down at the ground. I didn't want to catch his beautiful eyes. I felt like a horrible friend, girlfriend, whatever we were doing.

"That's okay, let's just head in and get your stuff all packed up, hopefully your journey will go much better, but just keep in mind you will face issues, they just might not be the same as mine, but you will face them," I nodded my head as he spoke, taking in every last word I could.

If only he really knew what I was leaving for.
