I walked Nick back to the car, my hands stuffed in my sweater pockets. I cleared my throat as he was getting in his car.

"Been meaning to ask you a question." I inclined my eyebrows.

"I haven't heard anything." He said immediately.

"Are you lying to me, Mr. Fury?" I asked quietly. "Boss or not, I can deliver delicious licks of pain. Creeping up your back, seizing your limbs slowly and dreadfully. The feeling of your brain exploding inside your skull. Swelling up, your lungs squeezing shut until your body gives in to my sweet and vicious capabilities."

Nick gave me a small smile. "Unnecessary because I ain't lying."

He closed his car door abruptly. "Can't say I missed you all that much, Lady Agony."

I gave him a small grin and watched him drive off quickly. I looked up at the compound and saw Steve and Bucky staring at me from down below. I rolled my eyes and pushed my hair back from my face. I felt a prickly pain in my middle and pinky finger. I looked at my hands and saw the nasty red lines creeping down my fingers and hit my wrist and crawled up. I gritted my teeth, the pain getting stronger.

I reached down to my metal necklace locket, my hand seizing up and squeezed as tight as I could. I felt a small surge pulse through me. It gave me a buzz. Sort of like a buzz after a cigarette. I closed my eyes for a moment, soaking it in. I walked inside and found Steve and Bucky coming towards the door.

"You seemed like you were having a seizure." Steve told me.

I looked at my hands, the red streaks gone. I smiled a tiny smile. I looked back at them. "Excuse me, Mr. and Mrs. America, I don't need a babysitter. I've been on my own for years. I'm fine."

"That locket on your neck is glowing." Steve pointed out to me as I tried to walk by.

I stopped and put my fingers close enough to see the shadow of the locket. It shouldn't be glowing. I frowned, confused. I turned back to Mrs. America (Captain America).

"It's fine." I gave him a fake smile and headed to my room.

I picked up the box in my closet that had all my special stuff in there. I shuffled around at the bottom of the box. I found the book I was looking for and pulled it out. I sat down and shifted through it.

On the night of the fifth year that you've received the Enchanted, the power will wither away. Seek that source in other comforts.

I put the book down and grabbed the locket off my neck. The glow just stopped glowing and I placed it on my nightstand. It would be about forty eight hours before I would need it again. I ran my fingers through my hair and thought. In order to make myself not seize up I need another grand source of power. Fuck.

I placed the book back in the box and put the box in the closet. I walked outside of my room and walked to the conference room. Bucky was sitting there, looking at a plum. I sat across from him.

"I'm pretty sure you're supposed to eat that." I told him.

His ocean blue eyes peered up at me. He looked confused that I was engaging in a conversation with him.

"You know, place it up to your mouth and bite a chunk of the fruit. The juice fills your mouth and you start chewing-" I began, making the gestures.

"I don't like the aura around you." He told me bluntly, putting the plum on the table in the middle of us. He put his hands on his lap. I paused, raising my eyebrows. "I just met you not even five hours ago and I can tell that you are not a good person. You make snarky jokes, you place yourself above people. And I've worked hard to keep my mouth shut about people like you."

I was amused. He doesn't know anything about me. I picked up the plum and bit into it. The juice ran down the side of my lip. I ran my tongue on it. I chewed slowly.

"Am I triggering you, Mr. Smith?" I asked him. He clenched his jaw and became tense. "I'm just giving you advice on a plum. No need to be hostile."

Stark came into the conference room. He looked like he was barely functioning . He put a black credit card in front of me. "I have no idea how much money Friday uploaded but it must be a lot because she wouldn't discuss it with me. Whatever. Everyone on my team gets a card, seems to lift their spirits. Need more, Buck Buck here will show you how to upload the money."

He began to walk away. I watched as he walked downstairs. Bucky pulled out a sort of stopwatch looking tool from his pocket and pressed a button. Steve came running in a second later.

"He's downstairs." Bucky said calmly.

"This is day three! He needs sleep!" Steve ran in the direction Tony went in.

A few minutes later, Steve came back carrying Tony over his shoulder. Tony was barely conscious. I grinned.

"I want to go shopping. Decorate my room. That boring decor is not going to suit me." I flipped my hair. "And you're coming."

"No."

"Come on. Maybe you'll get to know my layers."

"I don't want to go." Bucky sighed.

"What if I said please?" I asked. He didn't reply. "With a really big smile?"

He looked irritated.

"A smile so big that it'll change your mind about my aura?"

"Will you shut up?"

"Yes." I nodded.

He debated with himself and gave up. He stood. "Come on."
