I woke up by a loud knock on the door. "Melodie, you have to wake up!" I heard mom yell thru the door. Wake up? Why do I have to wake up so early? It should be illegal to wake up before 12pm. I just groaned as I turned my body so I was facing the wall. "If you don't come up right now, I'm gonna send in Stephan!" She yelled again, "You have school today! Don't be late, I don't have time for another meeting with your teacher now." Was the last thing she said before I heard her footsteps move further away from the door. But wait.. I can't have school today! I was suppose to meet Michael! He'll probably think I stood him up because of all the hate I've got. He's going to hate me now..
I quickly grabbed my phone, and when I saw the time I groaned out of anger and tiredness. The time was 7am, and I have no idea when my school begins. But I might as well just get up now then, because I definitely don't want moms husband to come. Not after what he did to me the other night.
I crawled out of bed and got dressed. My leg was better now, and it wasn't as swollen as before, so I put some sweatpants on and a blue simple oversize t-shirt. I was just going to school, so why dress up when you can be comfortable?
I put some make up on and went downstairs.
"Oh so the little princess finally decided to wake up, huh?" I heard a male voice speak once I got to the kitchen. I glanced at Stephan and answered, "I woke up a while ago." I didn't dare to talk back at him since I know what he was capable of. I don't wanna get abused again so I might as well do whatever he says and be on my best behavior.
He glared at me and continued to do whatever he was doing. Mom walked in to the room and gave Stephan a small peck on his lips. "The schools begins at 8, if you had forgotten." She said. "Do you remember where the school is?" I shook my head and she made a loud sigh, meaning that she doesn't have time for this. "Stephan, can you drive her to school?" She looked over at her husband, giving him an 'I'm sorry' look.
Am I really that horrible to be with? If she should feel sorry for anyone, it's me. For having to sit in a car next to the biggest jackass in the history.
Stephan looked at mom with an annoying expression and then he looked at me and said, "It's not my fault she lost her memory. She's the one who tried to kill herself." I didn't dare to say anything. I just looked at mom and she shrugged at me, "Sophie, can you follow Mel to school then?" She looked over to Sophie, who currently was eating cereal. "Sure mom." She said and smiled to mom. "Her school is next to mine anyway," She added and put her bowl in the dishwasher. "Thank you Sophie, you're an angel." Mom said while she walked up to my sister and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
Sophie walked to the hallway and put her shoes on. I followed her and did the same thing.
"Bye. See you after school." She yelled as she opened the door, "Bye." I yelled as I walked out and closed the door after me.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked her once we were outside. She was a bit shorter than me, so I had to look down at her to look her in the eyes. She had blonde wavy hair with a dark purple diadem with a light purple rosette in her hair. She had green eyes, that shifts color to blueish when the sun reaches her eyes. She wore a purple skirt and a white blouse.
"Doing what?" She grinned at me, playing all innocent and shit. "First you lied to mom and now you're following me to school?" I asked her with an annoying undertone. "It just doesn't make any sense." I added. "Everything doesn't have to make sense, you know" She said, playing clever. I only glanced at her before looking at the pavement in front of me again.
We didn't say anything else on the way to my school, and once we were outside, she turned to me and said, "Here's your school Melodie. Enjoy your day." And winked and walked away.
