Cassie Davis
I was 4 periods into school and now on my way to 5th which was lunch. I needed a break. Class was so annoying.

I just found out we had two quizzes on Friday and an essay due on the 8th. I entered the lunch room, taking a seat next to my best friend Lisa and her boyfriend Keone.

"Hey guys." I sighed, putting my text book down on the table.

"Hey" they both said in unison.

"I swear to god I'm gonna drop out of this place." I mumbled, leaning my head on my hand.

"Yeah Mr. Dylan tripping with all that homework." Lisa said rolling her eyes.

"Hell yeah." Keone agreed.

"I'm just gonna thug it out. What's the worse that that could happen?" I sighed.

"The death of you." Lisa scoffed.

"Funny." I giggled.

"Hey y'all!" A loud and obnoxious voice hollered from behind Lisa.

I got a closer look at who it was. It was Harper.

"Oh hey girl." I smiled.

I saw the look on Lisa's face. She instantly became aggravated.

Harper sat right next to me.

"Y'all looked bored as fuck before I showed up. Don't I make life better?" She smiled.

All I did was smile uncomfortably. I was just trying to be nice, but Harper didn't make our lives any different.

Lisa stayed quiet. She looked as if she was trying to hold her tongue.

I took a deep breath. "Alright y'all so I had the craziest experience today." I announced, trying to bring down the tension.

Just before I could speak, I felt someone wrap their arms around me from behind.

I looked up to see that it was Mickel.

"Oh hey babe." I smiled. He sat on the other side of me then leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.

"Hey beautiful." He smiled.

He looked up at everyone sitting at the table. "Hey y'all." He waved.

"Hey." They all said in unison.

From across the table, Mickel dapped up Keone.

I liked how I belonged to a clique. A group of people to hang out with. People who actually cared about me and had my back. Especially Lisa.

"But anyways Cassie, continue the story you were about to tell us." Keone announced.

"Girl, ain't nobody wanna hear that." Harper giggled.

"Alright you ain't have to be rude like that." Lisa spat.

"Did anybody ask you Lisa?" Harper spat back.

"Alright damnit. You really testing me." Lisa snapped, banging her hand on the table and pointing her finger in Harpers face.

"Cut it out you two. Y'all act like babies." I whined.

Lisa closed her mouth but Harper kept going.
