Saint Smith
As soon as I walked in the door, I sat in my bed rolling a blunt. I turned on my stereo, letting trap music play lowly. As I took the first pull of my blunt, I put a small smile on my face. I was glad to be home after a long day plus basketball practice.
I mumbled along with the lyrics of the song that played. I took a few more pulls of the blunt, and now I was definitely feeling a little high.
My eyes started to droop and everything in the room spun around. It was the perfect way to end the night.

Thursday, After school
I walked out of the school through the same double doors that were located in the back of the school. The day went by fast and I had work tomorrow so I needed all of the rest I could get. My days were iffy. They changed almost every week because of our short staff.
I took a deep breath, looking at the side of my car. The ugly scratch marks from when Harper keyed my car were still there.
And I still haven't told my moms. I dragged my hand across my face, just tired of everything. As I unlocked my car from a distance, I felt a poke on my shoulder.
I turned around, seeing no one at first figuring it was someone my height or taller. Then I looked down to see Cassie.
We hadn't talked all day or barely made eye contact. At lunch, she ain't even come over and try to bother me like she usually dod either. And I think I knew what that had to do with.
Her little self looked up at me, holding her books tightly against her chest.
"Hi" I said, raising my eyebrows.
"Hi" she smiled.
There was a bit of silence before she spoke again.
"Sigh." She huffed out loud, staring to walk away slowly. "I have no where to go. Lisa is hanging out with Keone so I have nothing to do after school..."
"Cassie, why are you acting like this?" I asked.
"Nigga- were friends. Let's hang out or something." She admitted instead of tiptoeing around the situation.
I squinted my eyes at her then turned around walking over to my car, not paying her any mind. She followed me right to my car.
"Get in." I said rolling my eyes.
I saw the little smile she put on her face as she got into my passenger seat.

Cassie and I took the elevator up to my floor in my apartment building. She was real quiet walking down the hall to my apartment.I opened my door, leaving it open for her. Then I watched her lock it herself.
I threw my book bag on the couch and she left her bag inside of my car.
"When I said I wanted to hang out I didn't expect you to take me here. To your place" She pouted.
"How do you know where we are anyway? This could be my drug lab lil girl." I said, crossing my arms.
"I ain't no little girl Saint." She said stepping to me.
"I don't know who your stepping to LIL GIRL." I said non-threatened by her.
