Two weeks had gone by since I'd been living with Saint. Nobody at home called for me and everything had been going smoothly as far as that situation. My birthday was on Friday and I was excited to spend it with Saint. Saturday was his last game so afterwards he'd be all mine. For the past two weeks we barely got to spend time with each other trying to maintain the types of schedules we were on. We only got to see each other in bed during the morning or at night, on the way to school and lunch.
Finally getting to spend some real time with my baby on my birthday, was the one thing I was looking forward to all week. Thursday, Lisa and I were going to go shopping, maybe get something to eat, and get our nails done. I had a busy week ahead and was beyond excited for it.
Hearing the keys in the door, I closed the book I'd been reading and hopped up from Saints bed.
"My baby daddy home?" I called out.
"Is that my baby mama lookin for me?" He responded, getting closer to the bedroom and eventually entering.
I loved the way we joked like that. One day I was hoping to make it into a reality.
"Hey!" I exclaimed, smiling from ear to ear.
"Hey mama." He yawned, putting his gym bag and book bag down beside the bed.
"How was your day?" I asked.
"Same ole shit. I can't wait til after this last game. I could finally take a break from all this training my body shit. Coming home earlier and all that." He huffed, sitting on the chair near the window and kicking off his sneakers. "What about you? Whatchu been up to?"
"Just school of course, practice and work. That's literally it." I sighed.
"Aye, you do what you gotta do." He shrugged.
"I guess..." I mumbled. "But you know I'm excited bout Friday."
"What's Friday?" He asked.
"Saint?!" I exclaimed.
"I'm fucking witchu Cass." He chuckled. "Friday's groundhogs day, ain't it?"
"Groundhogs d- first of all that's February second, second of all why would we celebrate that as a couple, and third of all-"
"Relaaax ma." He laughed. "I ain't gone forget your glow day like that. Known you since we was how old?"
"Yeah you better remember." I laughed, rolling my eyes.
"And what was you gone do if I didn't?" He asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Chop ya dick off nigga. Ion play." I spat, tilting my head.
He sucked air through his teeth. "Rather you suck it." He chuckled.
"Shut up." I laughed, getting up from the bed and walking over to him.
