Cassie Davis, 2 weeks later
October 22nd, ThursdayI sat at lunch with Lisa and Keone, staring into space and barely sipping my smoothie. Saint had not been to school today so there was no use in going over to his table to bother him like I usually did.
Harper had been real quiet lately. I barely saw her and when I did, it was only in the mornings. She had seemed heartbroken lately and I kind of felt bad for her. Mickel had been quiet too. I haven't heard from or seen him in the past two weeks which was odd.
I was supposed to be meeting up with Saint today but he didn't show up so I wasn't gonna bother texting him. I wasn't mad. It was just that we hung out everyday now.
"Cassie." Lisa snapped as if she'd been calling me over and over.
I broke out of my daze, now paying attention to her.
"What?" I asked her, sleepily.
"Oh I know what she day dreaming about." Keone spoke, hitting Lisa on the shoulder and raising his eyebrows.
"What?" I asked, pursing my lips.
"Saint." He uttered, putting his hand behind his neck.
"Keone you usually dumb wrong about what people are thinking but I think you right about this one baby." Lisa laughed, putting her hand up to give Keone a high five.
"Guys." I said with a flat face, tilting my head to the side.
"Then what were you thinking about Cassie?" Keone asked.
"W-well I-" I stuttered.
"Saint." Lisa laughed.
"Well yeah but it was only because we were supposed to meet up after school today." I explained.
"Ahhhh! What I tell you!" Keone laughed.
"That bitch sprung." Lisa mumbled to Keone, with a huge grin on her face.
"Sprung?!" I laughed.
"Yeah, you heard her. Sprung." Keone laughed.
"Y'all crazy. Saint is my FRIEND." I said, waving the both of them off.
"Keep lying Cassie." Lisa shrugged, rolling her eyes.
I sucked my teeth.
"Anyways. My parents are out of town this weekend. I'm throwing a Halloween party." Lisa announced. "I invited damn there all of the juniors and seniors."
"Oh my gosh yesss!" I squealed. I loved Lisa's house parties but I could never really have fun there because Mickel would always tell me what to wear and who I could talk to.
