Kenya's point of view
——————————————
I stare at the list in awe. This place wasn't "civilization" it's a the opposite of civilization.
It's a fake civilization.
This place spends their days trying to be a civilization only to get the opposite, competition, jealously, spite.
I'm only here because of the fake oxygen...
My eyes are locked on the list, my thoughts deeper than the ocean.
It almost feels like the world is revolving around me, everyone is content, finding solutions to their apocalypse, and I'm here.
In a love triangle.
Not even worried about survival, when in reality I should.
I'm worried about this stupid feast, and what happens if one or both of us don't get invited.
Will we get kicked?
Forced to die on the streets?
My thought process breaks when I hear a familiar voice right next to me.
"Whatcha thinking bout?" Cynthia says.
I jump, the smile at her.
"I don't wanna compete with you" I say softly
She rolls her eyes.
"Really? That's all? You look very deep in thought" she questions
"I kissed him" I say confidently, still looking down at my toes
"Oh" she says, eyes wide. "Who's "him""
"Mark" I say.
I then turn around quickly and make my way to Janet's office, dodging all the civilians with their cafeteria trays.
I exit the cafeteria, and now I'm in the hotel hallway.
I make my way to Janet's office, barely knowing where I'm going.
After a good 5 minute walk I find a mahogany door that has a cardboard sign reading "Janet's office" written messily with sharpie marker.
I knock on the door lightly.
I hear Janet's soft british voice say "Come on"
I enter the raggedy office.
It doesn't look too bad...
It obviously used to be the room that held the ice for the hotel.. partly because the ice machine is still obvious.
"I need my supply runner pass, and my ID card"
She quickly hands both to me.
"Good luck" she says with the creepiest smile.
I smile back.
This was going to be a long life.
