I just got out of Fiction Analysis and I had a half hour before my Basic Biology class started. I had one more class to get through. I decided to stop by the campus café to grab something as a quick lunch.

I entered the café and browsed over the sandwiches. I grabbed a turkey wrap, and walked over to the line. I got in the nearest line and as I looked over their coffee options I saw Sweater Boy. Luke! A squeal escaped my lips, and I immediately changed lines. A few students looked. I probably looked really stupid holding my sandwich and grinning like devious child. Like I care.

After about 5 minutes the café cleared out, I guess rush hour was over. There were just two girls paying in front of me.

“Excuse me, miss? I can help you over here,” the other cashier said.

Oh hell no, I’m going to talk to Luke.

“No, thank you. I’m fine here,” I sweetly replied.

He looked a little confused but didn’t argue with me. The two girls finally got their mochas and left. I set my wrap down on the counter and smiled. He smiled back.

“Hey! Your Luke from Fiction Analysis,” I said.

“Oh, uh, yeah. Luke the kid who can’t read aloud,” he looked down at the register.

“Kid, don’t sweat it. I can’t read that well aloud either,” I giggled, “I’m Kristine by the way.”

I stuck out my hand but he didn’t shake it.

Luke laughed, “I would shake your hand but I can’t when I’m also making the drinks!”

I pulled my hand back a little embarrassed.

“Haha! Well, then I guess I’ll have to meet you officially in Wednesday's class.”

“What can I get for you?” he asked.

“Well, what’s your favorite?”

The boy thought it over for a minute, “The pumpkin spice latte with extra cinnamon is really good.”

“Well then i’ll have one of those. Small please.”

“Okay, so that will be $3.49.”

I handed him a ten.

“Keep the change,” I grabbed my latte, and winked at him on my way out the door.

Waking up for today I was in a pretty good mood. I hadn’t seen Luke on Tuesday because the only class we had together was Fiction Analysis, which made me kind of sad. I was just glad today that I would be able to see him again, I had to admit that he was extremely attractive. I mean he’s this shy kid who can’t read aloud yet has a lip piercing? Obviously I was intrigued by him.

I quickly threw on some jean shorts and a simple white t-shirt because the weather was still in that after-summer stage, therefore it was still remotely hot. I left my somewhat wavy hair down, not caring too much about it.

The only friend I had really made so far was my roommate Sierra. I didn’t see her around that often because it always seemed like she was late for everything. She seemed pretty nice though, I didn’t really have a problem with her.

After 20 minutes of sitting around, I realized it would be a good time to go because I did have to walk a little ways. So I put on my red converse, and made my way out of the dorm.

I walked all the way over to the building, which in all honesty wasn’t that far away, but it sure felt like it.

I arrived at class with about 10 minutes to spare, and found myself smiling when I saw Luke sitting in the back of the room in his normal spot, with his head dug into the same book as monday. He wasn’t wearing his sweater today, but he was wearing a black t-shirt instead showing off his muscular arms. Like who even knew he had those?
