(Kristine’s POV)

It was Thursday so I didn’t have Fiction Analysis with Luke. Maybe that was a good thing, but I really don’t know. I’m so confused. I thought we agreed to get past the awkward interrupted kiss, so I think I should be upset? But I’m not, I’m really happy he kissed my forehead. That sounds pathetic.

I only had one class today and that was in the evening. I called Mariah and asked if she wanted to meet for a late lunch, and that I needed her advice on my Luke situation. She screamed (typical Mariah) and said she would love to help me with my boy problems.

I wore my dark blue skinny jeans and a gold sweater. I was extremely nervous waiting for her. So much has happened since last time we met up. Me and Luke’s relationship was so complicated.

She practically ran into the sandwich shop and screamed when she saw me.

“Oh my god, Kris! You need to tell me everything! Please, I live for this stuff,” she exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes and told her everything about the night Jason showed up at the football game, and how Sierra ruined our (almost) first kiss.

“That bitch!” she interrupted me.

“No, it’s not her fault, she didn’t know,” I defended.

I continued and told her about studying last night. I told her about the oreos and vines. Then of course the forehead kiss. At this point she was jumping up in down in her seat.

“OH MY GOD KRIS I CAN’T EVEN HANDLE THIS!!!” Mariah squealed.

“Keep it down! People are looking.”

People were looking at us. Mainly at Mariah and her frequent outbursts.

“Any advice? I don’t even know what to do, and I have to see him tomorrow and this is all so complex,” I rambled.

“Okay, here we go. It’s totally obvious that he likes you. He probably has for a while! And you obviously really like him too. Why you like a really quiet kid, I don’t know, but you do. So when you’re working in class tomorrow you need to tell him that you like him and want to go on a actual date!” Mariah spilled.

“We have been on an actual date, remember?”

“No. Lake Harriet was an outing, not a date.”

I sighed and she continued, “remember, he feels the same way about you so what have you got to lose? This is awesome, Kristine-”

She was cut off by the waitress.

“Can I get you girls anything? Today’s specials are the Wild Rice-”

Mariah cut her off.

“Uh, no. We’re having a serious conversation. Give us 10 minutes, lady.”

“Mariah! Don’t be rude,” I scolded.

The waitress walked away with a scared and offended look on her face.

“Sorry, this is too important to be interrupted,” she said.

I laughed and shook my head.

She continued, “you’re acting way different about this guy than any other guy you’ve talked about in the past. Please, Kristine, go for Lucas.”

“His name is Luke!” I corrected her.

“I know,” she smirked.

A different waitress (wow, wonder why) came to take our order. We had a short lunch. She told me about her new boyfriend Christopher.
