Chapter 6: Traveling
Powell and Parker are parked outside my house in the same black Cadillac they drive me to different places in. Personally, I’d rather drive to the airport and take time to think about everything about to happen to calm my nerves. But no, I must ride with them for international trips. At least I shouldn’t be bombarded with questions at the airport since it’s about 5 in the freaking morning.
“Got everything?” Powell asks. I nod, climbing into the back seat to sit next to him.
“Good, now Parker should have your photo shoot, interview, and premiere outfits already traveling and should be there-“
“Woah woah woah,” I interrupt him. “When would I be reminded of all these unknown events that I’m going to be attending?” He gives me a dumbfounded look.
“I was going to remind you on the plane like you always like me to but I just wanted to let you know that he has your other outfits in case you were wondering,” He remarks.
“Yeah but it would’ve been nice to know that I would be doing an interview and photo shoot as well before I’m travelling so I can mentally prepare myself,” I argue. One of the hardest things of being famous are surprise events. They can turn out to be really fun or can give you a panic attack. It takes up more of my time. Especially if someone I didn’t know would be at the premiere were to be there. I wouldn’t deal with that well.
“Miss Erin, you’ve always told me to remind you of your events when you’re travelling. It’s when you’re the most relaxed,” He points out. I sigh because it’s true. The only real time of when I’m relaxed is when I’m on a plane or in a car because I don’t have to worry about the event coming since I’m not there yet.
“Can I just hear what’s going on today after the flight?” I ask him. He nods.
“Of course,” He replies, taking out his phone and tapping something before he starts reading the events.
“You’re staying at your house right?” He asks me. I nod. Since I started shooting more movies that take place in London, I decided to buy my own place in the general area to make things easier. It’s my home away from home. The nice thing about having that home away from home was that I could pack light since I’ve got mostly everything there. I always have someone restock the groceries and wash my clothes, so I’m set for travelling there. It was much more relaxing and easier to stay in than a hotel.
“Okay so that makes it easier on us. Parker, Carter, and I will be staying at the Corinthea hotel, which is about half an hour from your house. Do you think you’ll be okay with us that far away? About every place is booked there for some odd reason,” I nod.
“Who’s Carter?”
“Oh you’ll meet her at the airport, our new intern for a temporary time. We’ll be meeting Parker and her there,” I nod.
“Okay, but what’s going on after the flight?” I watch as he scrolls through something on his phone.
“All you have is one interview,” He says. I sigh but nod again.
“Okay, I can handle one interview,”
“Of course you can, you’re Erin Taylor,” He says, making me smile. I glance out the window and watch as we near closer and closer to the airport, the sound of airplanes taking off and the long strip of land that the airport occupies.
As we walked inside the airport doors, I felt relief when no one here recognized me. Parker and Carter were exactly where Powell described where they would be, deep in conversation. They snapped their heads up once their heard our footsteps approach them.
“Morning Miss Erin, I don’t think you’ve met our apprentice,” He gestures toward Carter. As I turn to look at her she smiles. Wow, she was really pretty. Her hair didn’t have a streak of any other color and cascaded down her shoulders in long waves. Her bright green eyes popped out at me and her teeth were pearly white. She looked the ordinary 17-year old when she’s probably 24.
“Hi Erin,” She greets me, offering her hand out. I shake it quickly and smile back.
“Hi Carter, great to meet you,” I say.
“You too,” She replies, looking at Parker. “So what’s the plan?”
“Well,” Parker shuffles through some papers. “We need to walk over to the gate of where the jet is. We’ve got a long flight ahead of us so let’s go!” And soon we were off again, walking down the empty airport hallways full of cafes and coffee shops. I was getting tired of walking by the time we reached the gate, but soon we were on my comfortable private jet and off to London.

“What are you going to say to her?” Liam asks. I shrug.
“I have no idea, perhaps I shouldn’t say anything to her?” I suggest, pacing back and forth in the living room. The movie premiere was only two days away and I had no clue of how to approach Erin. We haven’t seen each other for a while, so I was starting to think she may not even remember me and what has been happening between us.
“No, no way,” Louis pipes up from the kitchen. “You two need to try and make it up somehow,”
“That’s not going to happen,” I scoff. Louis gives me a you-better-do-this look.
“If she won’t, then you need to be the bigger person and just do it because you two have been at it for a while now,” I sigh.
“Why? Should I apologize?” I ask.
“Exactly,” Louis smiles. “Apologize and then get out of each other’s lives,” He makes it sound so easy.
“So she can throw a sarcastic remark back in my face. She won’t believe it mate, trust me,”
“How do you know?” Liam asks. “Maybe she’ll come through this time,”
“Maybe,” I reply. “I don’t know, something’s up with her though,” We share a few moments of silence before Louis smiles at me.
“You like her don’t you,” He smirks. “You two have been playing hard to get for what-three years it seems to be? You both like each other and won’t admit it,”
“I do not like Erin!” I argue. “Haven’t you seen her? She’s mean and-and,”
“And?” Louis interjects. I feel my nostrils flare in anger.
“And I don’t like her because she’s too mean and sarcastic and sputters out rubbish remarks whenever she talks to me, so no. Every general conversation between us leads to a fight over something ridiculous like the media. We have no connection whatsoever other than our complete desire to hate each other,”
“Okay,” Louis trails. “Sure,”
“It’s true!” I exclaim.
“Fine, but just wait till the premiere. You won’t be able to take your eyes off her,”
