Chapter 20:  The Performances

Harry’s P.O.V.

All I could do right now was stare at her.  There she stood on stage with another cast member, making the audience laugh their heads off as she tries to contain her own laughter.  I have to admit, for the few times I’ve watched this show, it’s funny to see how the hosts and even the cast members have to try to contain their laughter while trying to perform their skit.  It’s pretty hysterical.  And now I can understand that whole feeling, because I had to just that in Erin’s first skit in the interview.

Yeah…that was um…certainly interesting.  I know she had that skit originally planned for the Arctic Monkeys, and you could just see the blood rush out of her face when she saw us come on stage in her monologue instead.  The look was priceless alright.  But she went along with it pretty well, not causing a huge meltdown or anything like that.  She didn’t even cringe in the interview skit, and I’m actually shocked at her actions.  She hasn’t even come to find me and hit me or just scream all these profanities in my face.  Then again, since she’s hosting the show, she probably doesn’t have time to. Though I’m probably going to catch it at the after party.

“I think we just made history right there,” Louis states with a silly grin on his face, walking up from behind me and standing next to me, crossing his arms as we watch another skit go on from the side of the stage.  We were just about to perform after the commercial break, all dressed and ready to go, so we just stood here and watched the show from the side.

“Really?” I half-laugh at him. “You know half of that was complete bullshit spilling from her mouth,” I frown.

“Yeah, that’s why she’s an actress. It’s what she does and it is what it is,” He explains. “But you have to admit it was a little funny,” I remark a couple of the lines from the skit in my head, letting a small smile form on my lips.

“Okay, it was a little funny,” I admit, making Louis chuckle.

“You enjoyed her coming on to you like that,” He says. I widen my eyes at him as my smile drops from my face.

“What?” Why the hell would he think like that?

“Harry, watching you and Erin is like watching primary students fall in love. You know the old rules, if they hate each other then-“

“What are you two blabbering about?” Liam walks up behind us, adjusting his black suit jacket.

“Nothing,” I immediately say, hoping Louis would stop talking. But I knew Louis too well now that he would have to say—

“Harry likes Erin,” Louis sings, making Liam groan in reply.

“Haven’t we already been over this?” He asks, a tinge of annoyance in his tone.

“Yes, and I do not like her,” I tell them both.

“Quit denying it Harry,” Niall perks up, making us turn to look at him who’s getting his black tie adjusted by Lou. “You’re practically in love with her,” I glare at him.

“Are you all aware of the fact that she doesn’t want us here?” I tell them, starting to get annoyed. “She hates our guts,”

“I’m pretty sure she only hates your guts,” Zayn walks up to us, fidgeting with the collar on his shirt. Was everyone not on my side with this?

“You know lads, this is making me feel so much better,” I say sarcastically. They all look down, avoiding gazes with me.

“Harry,” Liam starts. “We’re never going to understand this whole…” He trails off, trying to find the right word. “Whatever this is you have with Erin, alright? But perhaps if you would’ve fixed everything with her instead of continuing this immature arguing, then maybe this would’ve been a better night for you, for all of us at that,” I hated to say that he was right.  But still, she started it, and just recently told me to fuck off. So really, she doesn’t deserve an apology.  But maybe it’d just feel right to make things okay with her. I was getting so mixed up about how I felt about her right now and I shouldn’t be.
