June first came quickly and stayed for what felt like minutes. When Addison checked the calender it was now June 27.

(how did time pass so quickly?) she thought, marking off the past day.

she stepped back and sighed. so far summer had been uneventful and her list hanging by her body mirror in her room remained undone. it had some fun ideas, but she was still warming up to people. she was usually so outgoing, why was she so nervous to meeting new people?

the day swept by quickly, and the sun began to set. causing the scene outside to be filled with colors of pink, orange, red, and yellow. so she opened the glass door to her back deck and embraced the peaceful evening.

the warm breeze brushing against her skin, the smell of flowers in her surroundings, and the slight humidity making small mist to the air. she inhaled deeply taking in the moment.

(if only I had someone to enjoy this with.)

she walked over to the railing at the end of the deck, and rested her arms on the smooth top piece of wood connecting the railing together. she smiled at the scenery.

the faint smell of sea salt lingered in the air, reminding her of the ocean. she had always wanted to see the ocean again. she enjoyed the graceful waves knocking against the shifty sands, and the palm tree's hanging above her. she smiled deeper at the thought of being there. being there with people. being there with 'her' people.

the sun fell behind a small mountain in the distance, and the colors dimmed to a blue and purple.

as stars started to poke out dimly from the sky, she decided to head back inside and get a cold Drink from the fridge.

she opened the glass door once again, and walked inside to the cold wood floors touching her bare feet. she slid the door shut, and walked over to the fridge. she found lemonade and poured the contents into a plastic cup, sipping generously at the sweet drink.

she walked over to the calender to check if there was any summer events to look forward to, but she noticed a new event coming up that had just been written. she looked closer. it was for her brother Cole.

"Cole's Hot date?" Addison read aloud to herself. she smirked, and walked over to his room. she knocked on the door, and went inside without a response. Cole was on his bed reading.

she smiled at him. "so. 'Hot' date coming up huh?" she said in a teasing tone. he looked up from his book. his face a little pink.

"yep." he replied in a confident tone and was smiling slightly. Addison arched one of her eyebrows. then remembered one of the girls she had met recently. She and her were beginning to be friends.

Addison gave a teasing smile, and laughed.

"who are you going with?" she asked. though she already had a pretty good idea on who it was. Cole glanced at his book, then back at his sister. he opened his mouth to respond, but Addison cut him off.

"is it Audrey?"

he smiled slightly again but didn't respond.

Addison just gave him a smile and walked out.

 (it's totally Audrey.) she thought.

she returned to the calender and looked for any other events. as she eyed over the month, most of the days were clear. some had small  random holiday's she didn't know of, and other days had some summer school club activities. such as choir, art, and guitar lessons. but other then that her summer was empty.

she sighed and put her empty cup in the sink. then walked to her room to practice on her guitar.

she was a descent guitarist, but some songs or chords were a little rough here and there. but she picked up her guitar and started strumming her fingers against the chords for an original she had been working on. she only hummed softly.
