Chapter 6: Red Bandanna

Addison sat on the couch excitedly. he thumbs tapping each other creating a small rhythm playing in her head. 

du dum... du dum... du du du du dum...

soon she added her her tapping foot to create more sound to the small song she had just made up.

du dum bum bum... du dum bum bum... du du dum bum bum bum... 

the sounds echoed in the empty living room.

(where's Cole?)

she looked around the room for him, continuing her little catchy beat. where was he? 

a minute later after her eyes searched the areas that her vision could reach, her phone buzzed making her jump slightly at the sudden quick movement next to her thigh. her song came to a stop as she turned over her phone and noticed a notification at the top of the small bright screen, cutting off some of her background she'd picked out. 

Addison's read over the text from Michelle quickly. 

"Song Bird we are in position." she read. 'Song Bird was her code name for the event that Audrey and Michelle had planned.' Everyone had a Code name to help keep the event more fun and 'stealthy'. 

Addison was Song Bird, Michelle was Ninja, Audrey was Ginger, and Cole's secret code name was Hostage. Maccie's Role was a witness, and her secret name was 'Winds of Change.' 

Addison tapped her foot excitedly creating an unsteady but new rhythm. she responded quickly trying not to mess up her words and grammar with her thumbs quickly tapping at the small key board.  

a minute after Addison had sent her response the doorbell rang. a high pitched ding dong sent through the house hoping Cole would hear it. as Addison jumped up off of the couch and unto her feet also trying not to fall in the process, she Hurried to Cole's Room and burst through his half closed door, hoping to see him in there. he jumped in his sitting position on the floor against his bed and turned to Addison with annoyance when she stifled a laugh.

"Can I help you?" He asked with annoyance not quite matching his expression. she smiled and breathed in steadily trying to act casual. 

"door's for you." she replied trying to keep her expression straight. He sighed knowing he had to get out of his comfortable position and see who was waiting for him.

 he Used the bed to push himself off of the floor and followed Addison to the Door. 

when he approached the door he was a little confused that it was closed and no one was there to greet him. 

he pulled the handle and the door swung open inward as two figures came in. one dressed in a black 'stranger things' T-shirt, black jeans, and big black sunglasses causing the eyes of the figure to be hidden. then finished with red high top converse. 

the second figure wore a light pink dress filled with colorful flowers, and a sweater over the shoulders to create a casual but fancy look. then completed with black flats. 

Audrey and Michelle smiled as they stepped over and away from the door so then it could be closed. the warm heat and humidity was cut off from the house as the door clicked shut gently. 

"hey!" Audrey greeted with a warm smile not quite matching her outfit. she tried to act casual, though her black clothing and sunglasses gave a suspicious vibe around her. 

Michelle waved, and they both hugged Cole.

"hey guys. what's up?" he asked after letting Audrey out of the their quick embrace. their faces went pink slightly. Addison and Michelle gave Audrey an arched eyebrow, and her face fell deeper into red. 

"I have something for you." Audrey said after she rolled her eyes at both the girls slightly smirking. she pulled out a red piece of material from behind her and swiftly put it around Cole's eyes. Cole stood in shock for a moment as things went from seeing Audrey, Michelle, and Addison to a sudden darkness.  

"um... what are you doing?" he asked after a minute of pulling and struggling fingers from the back if his head. 

Audrey's fingers slipped against each other and the knot came undone. she attempted again, but the she failed the same. 

"Trying to tie this... but your too tall..." Audrey replied trying to remove hair that was getting stuck in between the almost finished knot. Cole laughed and grabbed the ends from her.

"here. I got it." he replied taking it from his face and replacing it more securely over his eyes, then finishing with a quick knot. after adjusting it slightly to block his vision fully from the scene around him, he smiled and held out his arms making a pose.

"TA DA." he then said. he could tell Audrey was smiling even though all he could see was black. Audrey sighed.

"it took me like two minutes to almost tie the stupid knot. and i'm terrible at surprise blindfolding." she said rolling her eyes as he smirked. 

Maccie entered into the door area from a hall way. her eyes lit up when she saw Audrey and Michelle in the room. she hugged both of them and acted surprised at their arrival. 

"um... Cole... you have a blindfold on... did you know?" She said stepping back. Cole pulled another pose and modeled the piece of fabric.

"nope. but I bet I look fabulous in it." he replied.

 Laughter filled the room with more comments on the red bandanna and striking poses. 

Cole pulled down his arms from a flexing muscle pose and adjusted the bandanna once more.

"why do I have this on again?" he asked After fixing the peek hole that allowed him to see bits and pieces of people and the objects in the room. 

"s. Mr. Hostage, we are here to kidnap you kindly. so if you would follow me, we will put you in the trunk of my car." Audrey explained as she grabbed Cole's hands and led him out the door. she pulled him over the cement unto the grass, then made sure he didn't trip over the curb. she then opened the passenger seat door and helped him unto his seat. Michelle, Addison, and Maccie sat on the next row of seats laughing when Cole tried to find his seat belt. 

Audrey put the keys in the ignition and twisted the key gently, bringing the car to life. she backed out of the combs driveway, checking behind her shoulder and glancing in the rear view mirror.

they drove out of the Doral Crest community and entered a main road.

"the trunk of the car is very comfortable." Cole commented After a few minutes of finding the free way, and getting off of exits. Audrey laughed slightly. 

"I told you. were 'kindly' kidnapping you."
