Addison opened her eyes to a warm morning. the sun creeping through the window telling her to wake up.

she shielded her eyes from the beams until she adjusted herself, causing the light to fall onto her blankets instead of her face. she inhaled deeply, then sat up.

a minute later her phone started to buzz as an alarm went off for her to wake up. she picked up her phone, and tapped the 'stop' button under her reminder.

she stretched, feeling like her arms would hit the ceiling, then slid her legs out of bed and walked down the hall drowsily.

when she approached the stairs, she took a wobbly step on the first stair, and her ankle rolled. her body lost it's balance and she stumbled down four stairs till she regained her balance. her body fully awake now. she stepped more carefully down the stairs, and turned a corner to the kitchen.

in the kitchen, she headed to the pantry and pulled out a box of cereal. she poured the slightly sugary food into a bowl, then poured milk into the dish to complete the meal. she dipped her spoon in, and took a bite of mini wheats.

not long after she had gotten her meal, more of her family members started to come into the kitchen. they grabbed a bowl, and either had mini wheats or another kind of cereal. this was pretty much almost every summer morning. drowsy siblings, cold cereal, and sunlight coming in through the back door.

Addison put her bowl in the sink after she finished, then walked back up the stairs, hoping she wouldn't trip and face plant into the wood stairs. she quickly went up the steps counting each one, then reached the top. she entered into a small room leaded by halls and doors. she opened her door, and entered into her room. she closed it softly and continued to fill out her morning routine.

When she had finished, she went to the living room and dove into the comfy couch. she held a sketch book in her lap, and ran her pencil across the paper, creating something new. each curve and line forming an image.

(Hopefully this will work out.) she thought as she started sketching out a girl and a peaceful scenery behind her.

the dim sky filled with stars. the ocean beating against the sand, and the smile she put on the profiled figure. she started to shade in different area's, starting to bring the picture to life.

her hand entered a small gray bag, and she pulled out a soft shade of blue. as the pencil touched the paper the ocean started to be filled with it's gorgeous color. she then mixed different blues to make the ocean seem more realistic. then colored in the person.

once she was satisfied with her drawing, she closed her sketch book and sat in the silent room, with her mind full of wonder.
