~Wish~

Chapter 4: D-A-T-E

Cole finished combing his hair with one last stroke of the brush. he flipped it in his hand and failed to catch it. it spun off his hand and landed onto the floor with a small clank. he quickly picked it up, and set it on the counter. 

he fixed his super man shirt and smiled in the mirror showing his excitement.

Addison came around over to the bathroom, and noticed Cole's pinkish face, and silly Micheal Jackson move he pulled. she smiled, and tried to keep in a laugh. 

he turned to the slight noise of stifled laughter then  flipped his hair in the mirror trying to annoy his sister. she rolled her eyes.

"no matter how many times you try, my hair is always going to be better than yours." Addison said swishing her hair back and forth, then grabbing the brush from the counter and brushing it out. 

"yeah right. my hair obviously much better." he replied taking the brush from her, and fixing his hair.

Addison gave him an unconvinced look. 

"sure. anyways, have fun on your 'hot' date with Audrey." she said walking over to her room. she hadn't left him alone about that for days. and he'd gotten a little pink every time, and now he was even pinker.

Addison laughed slightly. 

(he usually doesn't ever get pink when he's going on a date.) Addison thought. her smile got deeper as she now had someone to tease him about. 

he would tease her about her crush in New York all the time, and now it was time for pay back.

Audrey smiled deeply, and shook her foot excitedly against the checkered floor. a small tapping noise filled the room along with voices and laughter. she couldn't wait.

her friends across the booth looked at her with a slight smile and sighed.

"Audrey. chill. he's almost here." they said smiling at her. she looked up and her foot started tapping harder, and her face began to get red. 

"I know. I'm just excited is all." she shrugged. 

"we know." they replied smiling at her teasingly. she rolled her eyes at them, and smiled harder. 

A white Honda pilot pulled up in front of the building, then pulled into a parking space. Cole opened the driver side door, slid out, and entered the pizza place they were meeting at. the door rang with the small bell sound, and an employee welcomed him and asked if he wanted to try a special. Cole polity regarded the offer and searched around for Audrey and the rest of the group. 

he eyed over the red tables, and groups of people laughing and enjoying pizza. the air smelled like cooking crust, spices, meat, and a hint of something burned. the temperature was warm inside the building, not making a huge difference from the weather outside. his eyes met on the far left of the building when he made eye contact with Audrey. she smiled, and her face got deeper in red. he smiled back and headed over to the group, trying to hide his hint of blushing. 

"hey Cole!" Audrey said as he approached the table. he waved at the group.

"hey guys." he replied taking a seat next to Audrey. Audrey's foot stopped tapping and she smiled. her voice becoming slightly more quiet. 

the group went through menu's and saw the different kinds of pizza, trying to decide on what kind they wanted to try. After a minute of friendly arguments and opinions on the types of pizza they had decided on two different kinds. veggie, and classical pepperoni. 

they headed to the front desk and told the front employee the pizza they wanted, and decided on a table outside.  

a few minutes later the pizza was delivered to their table, and they started to grab at slices. the hot food melted in their mouths, and burst of flavors made the decision that this was a five star pizza place. they talked of everything. the moon, parks, summer. opinions on trump hats, and compliments on Cole's shirt. as the conversation continued  Audrey and Cole became closer and were able to talk about random subjects. such as trump hats, and baby dinosaurs. 

The pizza greased everyones hands, so Audrey volunteered to get napkins. she stood up and headed to the door. then her foot hit the other, and she stumbled into the door. 

(i'm so nervous still. ah....) she thought blushing badly. 

Cole laughed slightly. "you okay Audrey?" he asked. she turned and smiled wide. 

"um yeah. I just- ah- i'm gonna go grab the napkins." she stammered opening the door and grabbing a hand full of the small square paper towels. 

once the Pizza was mostly gone, they payed for the food and headed to a movie. 

jokes were made in the cars, and the conversations continued for what felt like would never end. 

soon they arrived at the movie theater. paying for their tickets, they walked to the theater room with the current movie that was about to be played. the doors were open and they entered into a dark dimly lit room with a wide projector screen playing previews. 

they went up the stairs and looked over different rows of seats and picked one closer to the top of the theater. 

Cole took a seat, and Audrey sat next to him, followed along with the rest of the group. the previews started to play, and Cole made a joking remark. Audrey laughed, and made a comment on the next movie trailer. more jokes were made in the theater, along with quiet laughs and excitement. 

the room fell completely dark and silent as the movie started to play. the scenes changing to different views and perspectives, putting together a story. wondering what was going to happen next and how the whole thing would played out. 

when it got to a slower scene Cole poked Audrey's knee, causing her to jump slightly knowing she had sensitive knees, and could easily get tickled. he whispered more comments on the movie and she laughed. she started to blush deeply. luckily it was dark so he wouldn't notice. 

he continued to poke her knee, and she grabbed his hand.

"i'm confiscating this." she whispered, wrapping her fingers around his hand. he laughed, and squeezed her hand in return. she smiled and felt like her face couldn't get more red. 

Cole tried to hide his wide smile on his face and hoped Audrey couldn't see him blushing from the light of the movie. but she'd already seen him.

Cole opened the front door at 9:37 pm. a smile was worn on his face, and his happy mood filled the air. 

"hey! how was it?" his mom called from the kitchen. 

he approached a stool and sat on it, then relaxing onto the counter.

"it was really fun." he replied smiling.

"that's good. i'm glad you had fun." his mom responded smiling. 

Cole hopped off of the stool, and said goodnight to his mom. he then walked down a hall and entered his room. his smile widened as he replayed the events of the night. his mind full of thoughts, and his heart full of joy. tonight was the best night he'd had in a long time.
