"What the hell do you think you're doing?" My raised voice was directed not at my mate, but to all of our surprise at my father.
"Don't come any closer, honey. Rebecca, keep her back," my dad spoke before ordering my mom to basically grab my arm.
"No. Lower your gun, now," I hissed, pulling my arm away from hers and rushing to stand in front of Damian, natural instincts causing me to protect him first before all.
He had the exact same instincts and therefore was quick to step past me again, heading towards my dad.
"If your dumbfuck of a father shoots me, he knows he will kill you too," he growled, extremely frightening all of a sudden before speaking directly at him, "I've marked her and mated with her, our bond is complete. You hurt me in any way, you know you'll also be hurting her. Do you want that, huh? You want to hurt your-"
"Stop," dad cocked his gun, and my heart plummeted down to my stomach. My blood ran cold and I stepped back in front of Damian, this time facing him.
"Please, calm down. Don't hurt him," I spoke, quietly hissing, one hand landing on his chest.
His jaw was tight, eyes focused on my father.
We all knew Damian could kill my dad without me dying. I could never forgive him for that, especially since if dad died so did mom with them being mates.
Henry was slowly standing up from the couch, both Damian's men and my father's men preparing to pull out their guns as well by the walls.
"Guns down, everyone!" Mom raised her voice, glaring angrily at the men in black suits by the walls.
Surprisingly they did what she asked, removing their hands from their guns and folding their arms over their chests.
"Please, don't do this to me," I continued, focusing my attention back up at my mate, "I don't understand... what's going on? Why are you two being like this?"
"He isn't agreeing to my terms," Damian growled, Alpha voice almost forcing me to submit but with some sliver of strength managed to keep my place.
"No. You're not using me to blackmail my father into any kind of agreement," I hissed, glaring up at me, "put your gun away, now"
His dark eyes flickered down to mine momentarily, and I felt him hesitating.
I basically sighed in relief when he finally did lower his gun, yet definitely still pissed off.
"We're leaving now," he announced, and my eyes landed on my upset mom behind him.
His hand grabbed my upper arm and began tugging me behind him once he'd nodded for his men that it was time to leave.
"Wait, I-" I was frantically glancing back at my dad and Henry.
"Sofia, darling-" my mom was stepping towards us, wanting to at least hug me, none of us knowing when I'd see them next.
Damian hid me behind him and away from my mother, glaring at her dangerously. Dad was quick to make his way towards her, protecting his mate.
"You can thank your husband. It's been great meeting you, but we need to be heading back now. Thanks for the tea," he mumbled to my mom, completely ignoring my father glaring at him.
Before I could even say bye to my family, Damian had tugged me out of the pack house and towards his car, his men making sure nobody would stop him.
When he began driving back towards his pack house, a tear slid down my cheek. I couldn't even bring myself to look at him and instead kept my eyes on the darkness outside.
"Sofia," he began, the nerve to sound almost apologetic.
"No," I stopped him, heart aching at how he had acted, "you don't get to use that voice and make everything okay"
"Can you at least hear me out?"
"No. Don't talk to me, leave me alone," I folded my arms over my chest, turning my body away from him as much as I could.
He sighed, speeding up a little as we drove down the dark and empty road with his men in a couple of cars following us.
I'm sure if I asked Linda to lend me her phone, she would. That way, I could contact my family.
"Baby..." he began, but since I didn't reply he didn't continue.
The rest of the ride was silent and once we arrived, Damian didn't stop me from shifting and letting my wolf out, then running into the woods towards the cabin.
The code is 3407
His thought was loud and directed for me to hear it. I felt the growing distance between us painfully in my heart, but just needed space.
After running a few minutes, I arrived at the hidden wooden cabin where he had marked me.
I shifted before I typed in the code and the door unlocked. I stepped inside, closing the door behind me before going on a quest to find clothes to wear.
The cabin was dim and the feelings and things that had happend in here only worsened the pain I felt at Damian having acted as he did which resulted in me just needing to stay away from him to clear my head.
The only clothes I could wear were his and I ended up crying on his large bed, under the duvet and cuddling a pillow while his intoxicating scent enveloped me completely.
