"Roman come on."
Damon sighed dragging Roman into Mystic Falls High school.
"Why are we here again?"
"Your lover boy's ex wife payed him a visit."
Damon whistled as they walked into Alaric's classroom.
"Did you ask her about Uncle John? Are they working together?"
Damon immediately asked as Roman sighed standing beside Alaric.
"No."
The teacher shook his head.
"No they're not?"
Damon questioned.
"No, I didn't ask."
Roman rubbed Alaric's shoulder not knowing if he was upset or not.
"What about the invention?"
"Didn't ask."
"Did she know about the tomb vampires?"
Roman asked softly.
"I don't know."
Alaric breathed out shaking his head.
"Did words completely escape you?"
Damon threw his hands in the air.
"Can you give it a rest Damon? What if our father walked up to us? I'm sure you'd be shocked."
Damon sighed knowing Roman was right, neither of the two noticing Stefan and Elena.
"What did she want?"
Damon asked as Roman squeezed Alaric's shoulder.
"She wants to see me, Damon."
Elena sighed.
"Alaric is supposed to arrange a meeting. We don't know why or what she wants."
Stefan shook his head.
"If you don't want to see her you won't have to Elena I promise."
Roman told the brunette who smiled at him warmly.
"I don't really have a choice Ro."
"She's threatened to go on killing spree."
Roman felt bad for Alaric, his dead wife coming back borderline psychopath.
"I take it that's not okay with you guys."
Damon chuckled looking at everyone, smirking at Roman who merely shrugged raising an eyebrow.
"I want to do it. I want to meet her. If I don't, I know I'll regret it."
Elena nodded her head determined.
The five talked some more before Stefan, Damon, and Elena left.
"Are you alright?"
Roman smiled softly down at Alaric his hands on either side of his face.
Alaric sighed nodding.
"I will be."
"It doesn't matter how you will feel it matters how you feel right now."
Roman told him softly.
"I'm just, confused more then anything."
Roman nodded rubbing Alaric's shoulders, just trying to be there for him.❁
"We should be in there."
Damon groaned as he Alaric and Roman stood outside the Mystic Grill.
Roman rolled his eyes playfully hitting Damon, as the raven haired vampire dropped his jaw staring his brother down.
"No, Isobel made it clear we're not to step a foot inside."
Alaric told him.
"He's not going to kill her in a crowded restaurant."
Roman defended Damon, Damon was reckless not careless.
"He's not going to kill her period!"
Alaric glared at the two.
"She ruined your life and you still want to protect her?"
Roman stepped to Alaric's side not wanting Damon to make it personal for him.
"She's my wife. Was my wife. I looked for the woman I married but she wasn't there. Whoever that is, she's cold and detached."
Roman subtly grabbed Ric's hand trying to hide it from Damon.
"Yeah, she's given up her humanity."
Damon clicked his teeth sending a glance to Roman who hid his eyes.
"Yeah, see, I don't get that. Roman and Stefan have their humanity, they're good guys. And you're a dick and you kill people but I still see something human in you. But with her there was nothing."
"You can turn it off, like a button you can press, Roman knows all about it."
Roman shot an uneasy glance to his brother not wanting to talk about when he had flipped the switch.
"I mean, Stefan's different. He wants the whole human experience. He wants to feel every episode of How I Met Your Mother, so he shuts his feelings out. The problem is, as a vampire, your instinct is not to feel. Isobel chose the easier road - no guilt, no shame, no regret. I mean, come on, if you could turn it off, wouldn't you?"
"You haven't?"
"Of course I have, Ric. It's why I'm so fun to be around. And when Roman does it,"
Damon whistled smirking at his brother.
"The party never stops!"1920
"Roman mate you're gonna kill everyone here!"
Niklaus laughed loudly as Roman smirked his face covered in blood.
"Don't be a kill joy Niklaus, I'm having an amazing time."
Roman walked over to a human trying to crawl out of the building.
"Petty thing aren't you?"
Roman scoffed stomping on the mans neck, he smirked when he didn't move any longer.
"You're so fun when you don't care!"
Rebekah smiled as she and Stefan walked over to them.
"But who's better, me or Stefan?"
Roman chuckled as Stefan grinned grabbing his brothers shoulders.
"Let's find out."❁
Roman had went back to the boarding house that night instead of Alaric's.
Something was weighing on his mind.
He was searching through all of the letters in his room when he found it.1920,
Today Stefan and I went through Chicago killing as many as we could see. It surprising how many humans you can kill before people start panicking.
Stefan thinks he's a better ripper just because he tears people apart but I could care less.Roman Salvatore
Roman winced reading the letter.
It wasn't thinking about the killings that made him feel sick.
It was remembering how much he loved it. He let out and uneasy sigh boxing up the letters once again.
Collapsing on his bed and falling asleep.❁
