"Roman, you coming to school today?"
Stefan questioned quietly as Roman pulled the covers of his bed closer to his chin.
Roman gave a quiet shrug as Stefan sighed.
"Roman Lee Salvatore if you don't get your ass out of bed I will call Caroline."
Damon shouted with a smirk as Roman shrugged again.
"Ro, come on please."
Stefan begged.
With a sigh Roman stood up and pulled on his black jeans and threw his sweater over the white T-shirt that had been on in the two whole days he stayed in bed.
"Come on Roman."
Stefan nodded and turned, going downstairs.
Roman went to follow, shoving his hands in his pockets, when Damon held a hand or stopping him.
"Hey, hey you okay?"
Damon asked quietly resting his hand on Roman's shoulder as he noticed the black and purple circles under his eyes.
"I'm fine."
Roman whispered softly pushing past Damon.❁
For some reason Roman couldn't seem to hold his own head up.
He had buried his head in his arms for the majority of class picking up a word or two before zoning out.
"Roman, what year was that?"
Alaric's voice made Roman flinch as he slowly looked up.
The way the boy looked worried Alaric slightly, as well as Stefan
"I uh- um I'm sorry I don't know."
Roman quietly said, his voice hoarse.
The bell rang as the kids rushed out, besides Stefan who went to his brothers side.
"Ro are you okay?"
Stefan whispered.
"I'm fine. Just go."
Roman gritted out.
Stefan sighed but slowly walked out of class.
Roman stood up grabbing his bag slowly as he drug his feet to the door.
"Roman,"
Alaric's voice stopped him.
"Are you alright?"
The man questioned furrowing his eyebrows in concern.
"I'm- I-"
Roman closed his eyes taking a shaky breath.
"I'm fine thank you."
Roman forced a smile, unconvincingly.
Roman turned to leave when Alaric reached out grabbing his arm.
"Roman if you need anything don't hesitate to tell me."
Alaric said quietly and sincerely.
Roman swallowed harshly with a short nod, making his way out of the classroom.❁
As Stefan pulled up to the boarding house Roman quickly took his shoes off and crawled back into bed shakily.
"Roman, baby brother, what's wrong?"
Damon almost shouted as Roman sat up with a sigh.
"Damon I'm fine-"
"Dammit Roman, stop saying you're fine!"
Damon yelled, the noise making Roman flinch.
"You're not fine! No matter how many times you say it, you're still not fine!"
Damon stared at Roman.
"You're right Damon I'm not."
Roman glared, his voice the loudest it had been all day.
"I'm really not."
Roman shook his head clenching his jaw.
"Then what's wrong?"
Damon whispered softly.
"I am alone! I am so alone!"
Roman shouted standing up.
"What are you talking about?"
Damon asked furrowing his eyebrows.
"Stefan has Elena, Bonnie had Caroline, and you can have whatever you want if you get over Katherine!"
Roman shouts.
"What the hell are you on about?"
Damon raised his voice.
"Nothing forget I said anything."
Roman's voice went quiet again as he crawled back into bed.
Damon clenched his fists going to say something.
But Roman's eyes had already closed, and he'd somehow fallen asleep.
His mind still wide awake.
