~Keith's POV~
"Paladins! Keith has gotten out of his pod; he is currently in the red lion and heading towards you!" Allura shouted into the comms.

I flinched, speeding up. Soon enough, the other three lions came in view.

"Keith! What the hell are you doing?" Hunk yelled as he, Shiro, and Pidge turned around to face me.

"Rescuing Lance, that's what I'm doing!" I growled, cutting off the communications before Hunk could start talking again. I sped past them before they could do anything.

Assuming the others were flying towards the ship that held Lance hostage, I flew straight ahead. Sure enough, a large Galra fleet appeared a little far away.

I accelerated the speed in which my lion was going in, hoping the others won't catch up, and headed towards the fleet.

Lance, I'll get you out of there, I promise. I thought to myself, tears starting to form. The small cruisers shot beam after beam of bright light at my lion, with no affect.

A series of ideas ran through my head, now that I realized what I had gotten myself into. I shouldn't have done this. But it was too late. I was already closer to the Galra fleet than I was to the others.

The ship became bigger as I got closer to it. Everything was a blur. I ran into the ship's wall straight on.

CRASH!

Debris flew everywhere.

~Lance's POV~
The ship rumbled. All I could hear was my own labored panting and the Druids' muttering.

The door slid open and closed. I could feel the presence of only one Druid now.

"It seems like someone has come to your rescue, damsel in distress." He taunted.

I felt a rush of wind blow around the room for a split second before an agonizing pain gripped my cheeks and jaw. My whole body was sore from the multiple electrocutions. My face burned.

"Too bad the only thing they'll find is your lifeless body, curled up on the floor!" The Druid still tightened his grip

He dug his sharp nails into my skin and tilted my chin up so I could stare at him. No remorse or mercy showed in the eyes of the creature that hid behind that beaked mask. Only a glint of cold joy.

A few seconds of tense silence dragged on between us. "Your breath stinks," I rasped. He shoved my head back, banging it onto the metal surface. I yelped with surprise and pain as he stormed back to the control panel, leaving me in a dizzy state.

"But of course! 'They wouldn't care!', right?" He raised his gravelly voice to a higher pitch, which I assumed was his attempt to mock me.

I swallowed down a groan of pain, and let my head droop. I nodded my head, silently agreeing.

"Wrong!" He barked. "You're a fool. Your teammates will be struck with grief. They will mourn!" He sounded eager for the idea. "It will be like music to mine and the others' ears."

My stomach was doing flips, though my hopes were slightly raised. They really do care about me? They were quickly lowered. "How would you even know?" I argued.

He tilted his head. "My, my, Lance, you really are as clueless as you assume you are," He snickered, "You are looking at one of the most intelligent beings in this whole galaxy!"

He took slow strides toward me. "I know more than you would ever be capable of holding in that little brain of yours."

All I wanted to do was sink away, into my skin, and just disappear. He was right. Of course he would be. Why not? He's a creature of intelligence. He probably knows almost everything about this universe.

I shook away these thoughts. "So are you going.. to k-kill me? Like, right now?" My voice cracked.

The Druid stopped right in front of me, and I could smell his still stinky breath. "Of course not,"

I sighed in relief.

"Me and the other Druids will when your pathetic friends watch on in horror."

I choked back a cry as a roar thundered overhead. The Druid rushed to the control panel and slid his fingers all the way up to the top.

Pain. Nothing but pain. Black dots danced in my vision, purple bolts of painful electricity in the background.

"And that will be pretty soon." His voice faded away.
