CHAPTER 24

JEAN POV

            The core theory of product segmentation is that a company can produce a single product with relatively minor variations, market it to different customer groups -- sometimes under different brand names -- and thereby increase market share while reducing the cost of developing radically different products.

            Those sentences keep being read repeatedly but not one single word goes into my head. Though my body is here, my mind was wandering about. I shake my head hitting them with my hand to keep me concentrate. Gosh, I have to focus! Mid-term exam is next week!

            Samantha throws a piece of paper hitting my head. I glare at her as she nudges me to read it. I open the already crumbled paper with smeared words.

            "Dreaming about something?' it wrote.

            "No," I mouthed. She wants to say something but I shush her.

            "Study". She bites her lips as eyes looking at her book.

            "Jean, I can't study," Samantha complains and I shush her once again. The librarian who walks around looks at Samantha with 'lower down your voice' look.

            "Jean, I'm hungry. Can we go eat first then we continue?" Samantha whispers. I sigh and close my book.

            "Okay," I reply. I don't think I could concentrate anyway. Samantha face quickly brightens up pushing her chair with loud stretch when standing. The librarian once again gives her a look. Samantha ignores and links my arms with hers.

            "Let's go," she talks loud enough purposely to irritate the librarian. She then giggles away pulling me out from the library.

            "Did you see her face? It's hilarious," Samantha comments imitating the librarian by putting her hands on both sides of her hips. She links around my arms again pulling me to the cafeteria. I smile letting her pulls me.

            "Jean!" a familiar voice calls out my name. Boon waves at us along with 2 friends. I waves back.

            "Hi". I smiles to Boon and both his friends. "Hey Boon!" Samantha hit him on the arm. Samantha and Angie get to know Boon and wouldn't stop teasing. It was awkward at first but soon they are okay.

            "Hi," Samantha greets the two friends of Boon, she with her very friendly self.

            "Let me introduce, this is my friends from psychology. He's Brian, she's Lily. My friends from business department, Samantha and Jean," Boon introduces grinning.

            "Nice to meet you. Want to have lunch together?" Samantha asks.

            "Sure! We are actually on our way to lunch until we cross you girls," Boon reply when Lily and Brian doesn’t' mind.

            "Great. Let's go," Samantha leads walking first then immerge to talk to her new friends.

            "How are you?" Boon asks walking by my side.

            "Stress with the exams," I laugh.

"Good luck though I have only one same paper with you," Boon says.

"Good luck to you too”. Psychology and business have the different semesters thus our exams would be different as well. Ours is of 30-40% on assignments and mid-terms, 60-70% on finals. While psychology have only 40-50% on finals, and 50-60% on course works.
