CHAPTER 27

            "The members are fine. Hyun Seong is quiet so I couldn't figure out what he's thinking," Eunmi voice could be heard behind the door. Hyun Seong who is about to opens the door stop when he heard his name.

            "Yah, how many times do I have to tell you don't you dare hang up on me! It's not like I care," Eunmi voice gets louder by each word.

            "It's just, just. Yah, how would I know you Choi Sin-Je would do something stupid," Eunmi stammers. Hyun Seong froze by the name of Sin-Je and opens the door.

            "Really, this kid. She hangs up on me again," Eunmi groans in frustration. She jumps when saw Hyun Seong by the door. Eunmi quickly composed herself and act as if nothing happens.

            "I'll go get some drinks. Do you want anything?" Eunmi ask getting no answer from him. Eunmi grabs her purse and walk out wondering if he heard her on the phone.

            Hyun Seong sat on the couch trying to recollect what Eunmi just said. He definitely heard Eunmi said Sin-Je name. What something stupid did Eunmi said? His gaze fell on the Eunmi's phone that she left on the table. Reluctantly, he picks up the phone and look at the call history showing Choi Sin-Je. Why is Sin-Je in contact with Eunmi, and not him? He clenches on the phone tightly which one of his fingers accidently press the call button. Hyun Seong went panic not knowing what to do, but his hand acted by himself higher them to his ear. With every ring, his heart beat got even louder.

            "Hello Eunmi unnie," Sin-Je voice answers. Hyun Seong almost drops the phone hearing Sin-Je voice. His heart starts to ache just by hearing her voice that he always finds it cute whenever she's excited. He missed her so much and wanted to hug her tightly never letting her go.

            "Hello unnie are you there?" Sin-Je spoke again. He let out a small sigh. Deep in his heart, he wanted to say it's him but choose to stay quiet instead. The other line got quiet as well. Hyun Seong hears a small gasp but couldn't quite catch it. He nearer the phone to his ear trying to listen when he heard a small muffle sounds and the call were hung up. He places Eunmi’s phone back on the table, clenching both his hands tightly over his eyes. He swallows his anger that is building inside him. He looks up seeing Eunmi by the door with a cup of coffee on her hand. Eunmi give him a small smile but never got one in return.

            When Hyun Seong left, in quick jump, Eunmi puts down her coffee and looks at her phone. Upon entering, she saw Hyun Seong on the phone with a gloom expression. She decide not to interrupt thought she's doesn't like anyone touching her stuff without permission. Half expected half shock, Eunmi saw Sin-Je name displayed on the last call list. Since that day, Eunmi would purposely left her phone near Hyun Seong and she knew he would calls Sin-Je once in a while.

            Like he usually does for past month, Hyun Seong would take Eunmi phone when she's not around just to make a quick call to Sin-Je. He feels it’s more than enough by hearing Sin-Je saying hello, hearing her soft breathing since both of them remain quiet, and Sin-Je would always be the one who hangs up first. Hyun Seong hated doing this which makes him feels so stupid and pathetic but he couldn't stop himself hoping maybe this is not the end.

            Hyun Seong feels extremely nervous today thou he always feel this way whenever he called Sin-Je. But today, something seems to be coming as his heart gives him an uncomfortable feeling.
