Soulmate necklaces were such a common occurrence, that it wasn't a surprise that that was your soulmate connection, you felt that you were quite an average person, with an average personality and average looks. You felt as if your necklace was the most unique thing about you, other necklaces you had seen were all normal shapes, usually split cleanly down the middle, but yours was meant to be a circle, it wasn't split straight down the middle, the edges were jagged almost as if it was cracked on impact, not carefully cut like the others. The color of the pendent was a rich forest green,a color as vibrant as the green leaves outside after a down pour of rain, you had grown to love the color seeing as you had the necklace with you at all times.
All soulmate necklaces had their own unique trait to connect you and your soulmate along with getting warmer the closer you were and colder the farther apart you were. Yours was quite diverse depending on how you or your soulmate were feeling, you could feel each others heartbeats when you touched the necklace or on more rare occasions you could hear each other's voices.
You had felt your soulmate necklace become warm once in your life, but that was years ago, you were 13 then, your parents hadn't let you go after your soulmate, telling you you were too young and not ready to find your soulmate. You had accepted the fact and let it be. You regretted that choice greatly, wishing you had meet him at least once before.
You hold on to your pendant often just to feel his steady heartbeat, it always calms you down no matter what the situation was.
Now the other more rare occurrence, you hear the voice in your head not out loud, you had heard his voice a total of three times now,
The first time it happened it startled you, you held onto your pendent expecting to feel the steady thrum of his heart beat but, instead you heard a beautiful voice singing in Korean, good thing for you that you knew Korean, you listened mesmerized for a good minute or so before it faded away. You had asked 'is this my soulmate?' Then you had sung a bit to finish up the minute that you were given to talk to him.The next time this happened, he spoke first again, you were sitting and doing your home work, when you grabbed your necklace due to the fact that your work was stressing you out, and you needed something to calm yourself down, feeling his heartbeat always helped, instead you heard a steady voice telling you that his name is chan and listing of facts about himself, telling you about his love for music and rapping, telling you he was 17 years old and as much as he could within you the 5 minutes that he had, you had flipped to an empty page in your note book and wrote down every word he said so you could remember. You had started with saying ' well I'm Y/N and it looks like you are a year older than I am." You told him as much as you could about yourself in that 5 minutes. After those 10 minutes all you could here was his voice replaying in your head, all you could think about was him.
The third time was more recently, you had felt overwhelmingly alone and sad, so you touched your necklace and ranted and cried to him for the now 10 minutes that you were given, by now you had realized that the time varies with each occasion. He then responded with talking about how much he wishes he could be with you and hold you and how feeling his heartbeat, which only beats for you, will have to do for now. You ended crying yourself to sleep that night, your hands gripping the necklace tightly, feeling his heartbeat steadily.
Who knew it was possible to miss someone you've never met. You felt so alone, you missed his voice, even though you've only heard it thrice. You missed his warm hug even though you've never felt them. All you had was the feeling of his heartbeat and that'll have to do for now.
