It had been a couple of months since you had started working at the cafe, by now ji-won and you had become really close, seeing as the two of you were attending the same college. The two of you walked to class together in the mornings even though you had chosen to focus on different things, she was more into business, while you had chosen to focus on something a little more creative.

You trudged through your doorway after a long day full of classes, even though it was quite early you still felt as if the day was coming to an end. You flopped onto your couch, glad that it was finally a Friday.

You groaned remembering that ji-won had plans for the rest of the day, you had just wanted to change into your pajamas and watch tv shows or YouTube for the rest of the day, but you promised your, best friend that you'd go with her.

Ji-won felt as if you didn't go out much, which you didn't, so she was determined to change that. She had kept pestering you for days trying to convince you to go somewhere with her, you had reluctantly agreed after awhile of her constantly bringing it up.

So now ji-won, who told you nothing of where the two of you were going, told you to be ready by 5, it was now 4:30.

You got up slowly, you made your way to your room, the cold hard wood of the floor chilling your feet, you made mental note to pick up a rug or something, your feet always seemed to be cold. you walked up to your closet, picking out a nice dark blue tee shirt, a slightly oversized black hoodie and a pair of jeans. You grabbed some mismatched socks as well, not forgetting about your usual habit of wearing random socks.

You walked down the hall into the average sized bathroom. You hopped into the shower, speedily finishing showering and getting ready.

After finishing up you sat on your couch, subconsciously touching your necklace, feeling the warmth flow through your hand, you felt the rigid edges dig into your palm, but it was comforting in a way, something you were used to after clutching the necklace when you were in need of reassurance or comfort.

The simultaneous sound of your phone and the doorbell ringing brought you back from your thoughts, you checked your phone, only too see ji-won spamming you with messages.

"I'm coming! Wait just a moment," you yelled to your impatient friend, as you made your way to the door.

The girl standing at the door was quick to hug you after you opened it, "now come on, let's get going."

You quickly grabbed your bag, phone and keys, and slipped on your shoes, as ji-won ushered you out the door, practically pulling you outside. You swiftly turn around and locked the dark brown door behind you.

Ji-won was dressed in a emerald green button up shirt that contrasted sharply with her deep auburn hair, which was put in a braid, she had on a pair of plane pants, and some sneakers on.

"Where are we going?" You questioned, as the two of you walked to her car.

"It's a surprise," she replied shortly, while also smiling.

"Where are we going."

"Not telling. "

"Whyyyy."

"Cuz I don't wanna."

" please tell me. "

"No."

This went on for awhile, until she was finally feed up with your constant asking, "I would have told you I'd you weren't annoying me so much."

You asked her, "if I stop then will you tell me? "

Her only reply was, "maybe,"

You decided to stop annoying her and just sing along to whatever song was playing on the radio.

Ji-wons car was quite comfortable, but you couldn't wait to get where you were going. Even though you had wanted to stay at home, comfy blanket wrapped around you, inside a pillow fort watch YouTube videos, you decided to enjoy yourself and spend time with your best friend outside of school or work.

You soon started pulling into a large parking lot filled with cars, you realized quite quickly that you were at the fair. You generally hated crowded places, much like this fair, but you were excited by the thoughts of all the food you could eat.

You squealed with happiness, ji-won giggled with you as you started gushing about all the food.

"Well let's go then let's not spend all our time in the car," she said, hurrying you along. You nodded excitedly, all you could think about was the tons of yummy food you'd get to try.

Ji-won grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the small ticker booth, the two of you payed for your tickets and made your way in.

The aroma of spun sugar filled your nose, you also smelled freshly made churros, you especially loved churros with vanilla ice cream.

"Let's go over there first," ji-won said, pointing at the death trap that was considered a ride. The rollercoaster had two huge loops and multiple sharp drops, there was no way you were going on that monstrosity.

"Hmm, how about," you paused before practically yelling in her ear, "NO!"

"There is no way anyone is making me go on that death trap," you paused thinking for a moment, " I bet you twenty thousand won that  no one will get me to go on that ride in my life time."

"You know, I didn't even say anything to you, but I accept the challenge, for some reason I have good feelings I'm gonna be twenty dollars richer someday soon."

"Fine then, I'm gonna go over to the food stalls, find me when your done with your crazy rollercoasters

She sighed letting you go, but she really did have a feeling that someday soon you were going to go on that, crazy rollercoaster and that she was gonna win this bet.

"Fine, I'll meet you over there in maybe an hour, the line seems kinda long," she told you the plan, you nodded, remembering the sent of freshly made churros and funnel cake.

You quickly located the stall where the sweet cinnamon-ie sent of churros was coming from, but you had also found the funnel cake, torn between the two, you finally decided on the churros, 'I'll come back for you later funnel cake,' you thought to yourself.

You purchased a churro with some vanilla ice cream on the side, just the way you like it, and found an empty seat.

you took a bite of your churro, when you felt your pendant growing warmer by the second, it was a pleasant warmth, almost like a tight embrace.

You stood, churro still in your mouth looking around for someone, anyone who showed a sign that they were looking for someone.

Before you could find him, the warmth faded back to its usual body temperature feeling. You sighed, knowing that it was no use to go looking after him, especially when the fair was so crowded, plus your ice cream was melting and you had wanted to finish that first.

You continued to eat and wait for ji-won to show up, when she eventually did, she told you she had something important to tell you and that she was coming over for a sleepover on Saturday. She  sounded quite happy and excited, you had wanted to tell her of your experience with your soulmate necklace as well, so you quickly told her you had a story to share as well and made it a plan for Saturday.

The two of you spent the rest of the day playing little games here and there and stuffing yourselves with food, but thoughts of chan occupied the back of your mind, you were determined to talk to him, one because of this incident, and two it had been way to long since you had spoken to him, the last time being when you cried to him.

Ji-won, dropped you off at your apartment, you were exhausted by this point, and didn't have the energy to talk to chan, so you settled down into bed after changing into a pair of pajamas, you held onto your necklace, the steady beat of his heart lulled you too sleep.
