FMA world AU! In this story, which takes place in Edward's and Alphonse's world, Ginger is called chimera, and she is actually normal size! She's probably about 4' 9' instead of her usual 3- ish inches. It's an AU so she's just normal size for this one shot thing. Happy Halloween!

Gingersnap's POV:

On Halloween, my friend Edward and I took a walk in the woods in the evening. We hadn't realized we were lost until the sun started to set. Edward became more and more anxious as the nighttime shadows crept in between the trees.

"Ed, what's wrong?" I asked him for what must have been the tenth time.

"I told you, Ginger, we have to get back before it gets dark!" Edward snapped.

I froze in place, but he kept walking forward. My ears and tail drooped. "Is it...is it because I'm a chimera and you don't want to be seen coming home with me late at night?" I hung my head so he wouldn't see the tears welling in my eyes.

Edward stopped in his tracks, turned around, and walked right back to me. He took my paws in his hands and squeezed them tight. I could feel the stiff chill of his auto-mail hand through his glove.

"Ginger...I told you, I don't care who sees us together. What I care about is your safety, and the woods aren't safe at night! Especially on Halloween."

I squeezed his auto-mail hand tight as he ran his other hand through my short red hair. I smiled.

"Atta girl. Now c'mon, we gotta stick together."

Edward held my paw in his left hand as he walked on in what I hoped was the right direction.

We still hadn't found the path that lead to my village when the blazing golden sun sank beneath the horizon. The woods around us plunged into darkness and clouds hid the moon from view.

Edward stopped so suddenly I bumped into him. I thought it was because his human eyes weren't well adjusted to seeing in the dark like mine, but something just didn't feel right...

Edward looked scared. In fact, I could smell the fear coming off him in waves. "Ginger," His voice was barely a whisper. "Whatever happens tonight, just remember....I love you."

"I-I love you too, Ed. Don't worry, we'll find our way back soon."

At that moment, a ray of moonlight pierced through the clouds and fell across his face. Like paint in water, Edward's soft yellow eyes dissolved into a deep blood red.

I gasped. "E-Edward?! Your eyes!"

"Ginger, run!" Edward put his hands to my chest and pushed me away from him.

"No! I'm staying with you. Please, tell me what's going on!"

Edward opened his mouth to speak, but let out a painful yell. The moonlight glinted off his shiny white teeth as they grew long and sharp. Next, his skin began to ripple and give way to thick yellow fur that spread over his face and neck.

The boy doubled over and fell to his hands and knees, digging his fingers into the dirt. Sharp claws burst from his fingertips and ripped his gloves to shreds. His scream was echoed by the tear of leather as huge paws exploded from the remains of his black and red shoes, and a fluffy yellow tail erupted from his traveling cloak.

As Edward looked up at me, his furry face contorted and stretched and two long canine ears grew out from his hair. He threw his head back as his scream bled into an ear-piercing howl.

The rest of Edward's torn clothing fell away, and in his place stood a golden werewolf.

"E...Edward?"
