Wonwoo was in his room, doing his chemisty homework on his study table. The lamp, illuminating his small dark room and giving him enough light to work on his paper. It was late enough for Wonwoo, around near midnight as he started to loose track of time. He was in the middle of solving a problem when he heard a loud bang from outside his room.

Wonwoo grew scared. "What's happening?" he mumbled quietly to himself as he stood up and walked to his door and opened it quietly.

All he could focus on where the exchanges of loud shouts. His mother and father arguing. He would always fear them when they faught each other. However, something seemed out of hand.

He tiptoed slowly, going down each step to the room as quietly as he could. He peaked his head into the kitchen, but heard more steps from behind him.

"Hyung, what's going on?" his little brother, Bohyuk had called him. Rubbing his eyes from waking up.

Wonwoo looked back and fourth from his little brother to the room where their parents faught. He bit his lip and covered Bohyuk's ears from the loud curses of their parents, quickly bringing him back into his room.

"Just. . . Stay here first alright?" Wonwoo could see the worry and fear in the younger's eyes. He hugged him and stood up. Wonwoo hurriedly left the room and run back to his parents as he heard a loud shriek.

"Mom, dad?" he couldn't hide himself from behind no more. The fear slowly eating him when he looked at the scene before him.

Broken cups, plates and silverware on the ground. He peered over the room, his drunken dad lying on the floor, clutching his shirt and mumbling small curses to himself. He ran towards his mother to see her lying on the ground, holding her head and the side of her stomach.

Wonwoo burned in anger. "How could you!?" he screamed, tears rolling down his face-

He woke up with a jolt, breathing heavily as sweat from his head dripped down with his tears. His eyes were wide, seeing his brother hugging him tightly and mumbling: "It's okay." "It's going to be okay." "Please don't cry. "I'm here."

It went on for a solid 30 minutes 'till Wonwoo was able to regain his breathing. Crying silently in the warm comfort of his brother. He hated that dream, he hated that memory, seeing his mother hurt and bleeding on the ground, from the cause of his father. He couldn't take it.

Wonwoo prepared his bags and threw them into the trunk of his car. His father still hadn't spared a single word towards him since their fight and Wonwoo rejoiced knowing that he had the chance to finally go back to the comforting grounds of the university, which was just a two hour drive from his home, but wished he still could've stayed longer and celebrated his winter break differently.

His father had left for work early that morning. Wonwoo felt relieved, having a reason now not to talk to his father. Though he wouldn't be that harsh on his own dad, but even his mother couldn't convince the two of them to kiss and make up. Nevertheless, the saying opposites attract do not apply to the two boys. They misunderstood each other, had different perspectives and opinions towards specific topics. They were father and son, but acted like boss and client.

Wonwoo's mother and brother stood at the gateway of their house. Wonwoo walked towards towards them, his heart feeling heavy, knowing that he'll be leaving his family again and no doubt-- wouldn't be visiting for a while. His mother embraced him, Wonwoo's figure towering over the latter as he hugged back. Inhaling the familiar sweet perfumed scent of his mom one last time. She tightened her embrace and kissed his forehead, stroking his hair and giving him the motherly feel and presence. "Promise to come back next break." she spoke. Moving her mouth closer to his ear and saying: 'And I'll make sure to talk more with your dad', earning a chuckle from Wonwoo.
