The joyous occasion seemed to last a life time, the seven of them told jokes and made witty remarks about each other, just being teenagers and enjoying the calm before the storm. By now, everyone had been in the gym for a good twenty minuets with no sign of a teacher or authority figure, it began to raise some suspicions but people weren't to bothered, less teachers the better, it gave them time to be normal for once. Ding dong, ding dong. "Huh? What is . . was that a doorbell?" Junako, being surprised by the noise, rose from the bleachers, the speakers from around the gym fizzed into life, a crackling static noise raided the gym, quietly at first but soon enough it was muffling the voices of others (Danganronpa - Despair syndrome) "ahem. Testing, testing. 1 . . 2 . . . ah who cares what comes next." A high voice came through the speakers, unexpected but not scary. "Anyways, welcome one and all to the 20 . . . 20 . . . wait what year is it again. Oh well doesn't matter, welcome to this years entrance ceremony, now please move to the staging area, so we can get this show on the road" the speakers clicked off, silence filled the room once more "ha, it's about time I hit the stage, I've been from it for too long. No autographs, please" Sainõ held her hand in front of her face again as she jumped up from the bleachers and began to walked to the stage, soon being followed by Tako, Sora and Hajiga without a word more, "I guess its time then . . . why do I feel such a chill though." Drake muttered under his breath "hmm? Violet's interest has been peaked. What do you mean Drake?" Violet asked with a curious smile as she jumped off of the ground, Junako also wanted answers "well . . . how do I put it . . . I just got this chill as that voice ran through the speakers . . . just something about it . . . . doesn't seem right . ." Drake smile fell, a worried frown came over his face briefly as he thought (now that he mentions it, this whole thing seems odd . . . maybe I've just been too busy to notice . .) Junako also looked worried, Violet simply wandered off in her own little world, leaving the pair to themselves, "well, we should go." Drake announced, walking away to join Violet (It's just a feeling Junako, it doesn't mean anything) is what Junako kept repeating to himself as he walked towards the stage. Arriving near the front of the crowd, the chairman did his best to look confident, with Scarlet just beside him staring at the stage "ssssoooooo . . . where this announcer?" Hoshihiko called out from behind, a few people began to murmur among themselves "y-yeah, this is pretty weird" - Akemi "Perhaps they wish to surprise us, to raise our spirits in a joyous performance" - Hiroko ". . hmph, some 'performance' this is . . ." - Kounna ". . . something's not right" Scarlet spoke finally, her head turning to face the rest of us "has anyone here ran into anyone else besides us?" Scarlet spoke loudly in order to draw everyone's attention, the murmuring feel quiet and the group had heads turning to check for answers from others "now that you mention it . . . no. I didn't run into a single teacher, not since I woke up" Tantei mentioned, his voice rising over more unnecessary murmuring which was just others saying similar things "okay, next question . . . did anyone see any sort of open windows? Maybe a door of sorts?" Scarlet asked again, with a silence falling over us again, looking around the gym was no use, the only door in sight being the one they had all entered through. There were curtains draped all across the walls, the light filling the room was from ceiling and wall lights, Rocky ran over to the closest wall and pulled back the curtains "It's no good, there's just more curtains" he announced in a disheartened tone, letting the curtain fall back in place peacefully "of course there'd be no windows there idiot. That's a wall!" Hoshihiko sighed angrily as she decided to look at a different wall, the one by the bleachers, she rushed over and yanked back the curtain angrily "w-what the!? More curtains, is this some sort of joke?" She threw the curtain back into place and rushed back over, pushing past Junako and the others towards the stage "HEY! I KNOW SOMEONE'S IN THERE! SO KNOCK IT OFF AND GET OUT HERE ALREADY!!" the stylist yelled, smashing her fists against the stage which caused an echo to trail through the gym, a unnecessary gasp rose from the ultimate actress "how . . dare you! Attacking a stage like that, what kind of indecent, unethical, unnecessarily violent, person do you think y-" "oh put a sock in it!" A new voice rushed through the crowd, everyone's heads turned to see where it came from, Toshihiro was the first to find the voices origin, he screamed in surprise and backed away, almost tripping over his own feet, his eyes shook and his entire body was shuddering "W-W-W-WHAT I-I-IS THAT!" Toshihiro cried out, before circling around Drake to hide behind him, the artist had followed Toshihiro's line of vision and also looked shocked ". . ." he didn't speak, but he looked like he was trying to form some sort of words, Junako pushed through the tiny crowd, forcing his way to the centre "w-what the hell . ." Junako was at a loss for words, in front of him was some sort of sentient teddy bear. (Danganronpa - Mr. Monokuma's tutoring) The . . . thing, was some sort of half black half white bear, the white half of its face had a normal looking teddy bear face and a button black teddy eye while the black side has a sick, sinister grin and some sort of red spiky stripe where it's other eye should be, it's whole body looked quiet soft, like it was full of stuffing. "You all gonna keep starring? Jeez how rude!" the bear yelled, raising its arms in anger, Toshihiro cowered in fear behind Drake, everyone else seemed to shrink back slightly in surprise, with the exceptions of Kounna and Scarlet "who are you?" Kounna asked, with no real expression across his face, the bear returned its hands to its sides and stared at his questioner "hmm? Who am I?" The bear chuckled, Junako felt uneasy as the bear stopped chuckling "I'll tell you who I am" it replied before bending its knees and leaping out towards the stage, Junako, Hajiga, Sora, Hoshihiko and Sainõ all had to duck to avoid the bear, a small shriek of fear erupted from Sainõ and Junako, the bear leapt through the draping, tearing it down as it landed. A big desk was behind the curtain, a desk lamp and a small nameplate were on top of the desk, a big red button was to the side of the nameplate, while a banner was over top, it's wording drove a cold shiver down Junako's back "welcome to the killing school life" surprise was on everyone's faces, murmuring erupted from the crowd "k-killing school l-life?! W-what the hell does that mean!" Tako said what was on her mind, what was on everyone's minds (yeah what is this!) Junako was confused and was about to start demanding answers when the bear silenced everyone again "sssoooo your all probably wondering about the banner, well I'll get to that eventually, I'm Monokuma, the school's acting headmaster, you better remember that. Got it?" Monokuma made a big deal of his name and title, while holding a fish wrapped in what looks like cigar casing ". . . is this a joke?" Rozū sighed, folding her arms and looking annoyed at the cartoonish mascot that called itself a headmaster, it pulled out a match and started to strike it against the desk, almost completely ignoring the students "HEY!! Quit ignoring us and tell us about that damn sign!" Tako yelled again, Monokuma sighed, and lowered the smoking fish to the table, while keeping the match on the fishes head "the banner huh? Well miss hissy fit, I'll tell you. This will be no ordinary school year, today marks the first day of your new life, as inmates!" A shock that was believed to have died down, suddenly swelled back up and ran through everyone "y-you m-m-mean we're t-trapped here!?!" Toshihiro yelled in horror, his hands tightened on Drake's shoulders the latter seeming very uncomfortable about the experience "yes indeed, I've got this place sealed down tighter than a sardine in a sardine can!" The bear bashed his fist against the table, the fish he had placed their earlier jumped slightly as his fist struck the table before landing back on the match "this is a joke right? Ha ha, come on guys, turn off the teddy bear and get on with the ceremony" Rocky called out, his voice having hints on nervousness sprinkled through it "HEY! I am not a teddy bear. I am Monokuma, I am your - no. I am this schools. Headmaster." The red strip started glowing, it seemed that red strip was actually its over eye, a small ball of panic and anxiety had started growing inside of Junako, this would be his new world for the rest of his life? No way. Junako didn't believe the bear, he didn't want to, he couldn't. But he did, once the bear pulled another trick from his non-existent sleeve "Now then why don't we get this killing school life, underway! Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the killing game!" Monokuma let a harsh and haunting laugh loose as he pushed a button that was sitting on the top of the desk, the curtains that covered the room all fell to the ground in one big avalanche of fabric, and behind those red velvet curtains were windows, giant windows that ranged from just above the floor to just below the ceiling, bared over and covered in barbed wire which prevented any chance of tearing the bars apart, the feeling of dread and entrapment overcame Junako, people began to panic, he could hear them, Hiroko and Rozū looked around the gym in surprise, not the good kind, Kounna and Scarlet seemed unfazed by this, what was running through their minds would be a mystery to Junako.
