Chapter 1 - The price of survival (pt 3)

After that, everyone gathered in the dinning hall for a quick dinner and some time to talk with one another, but Junako turned to someone who was busy isolating themselves from the group, one of the unknown ultimates, Kounna Funn. "Hey Kounna, how are you doing?" Junako asked as he walked over, Kounna briefly glanced at Junako and then returned to his food ". . . Kounna, I'm not leaving until you answer my question" Junako commented, Kounna groaned as he answered Junako ". . . I'm fine . . . now leave" Kounna remarked coldly, going back to his meal, but that didn't stop Junako "no, I won't leave . . . you remember Monokuma's threat right? It's better if we get to know each other so we can build some trust between u-" "or what? Is the moon gonna crash into town and take out the world? I don't think so, now you can just go back to your little friends and have ya little girly chats over there, but I'm gonna sit over here an' eat me stake." With that Kounna sighed and returned to his food, Junako was ignored more and more after that, until Rõzu approached "what are you yelling about Junako?" She seemed annoyed at him "you're making a lot of noise . . . so Kounna, just answer him so he'll shut up" her quick tongue had saved the day . . . kind of . . "ugh . . . fine, fuck it. You wanna learn more about me then listen up and listen good, cuz I only say this shit once." Kounna put his fork down and brushed his plate to the side, Junako sat himself down opposite him, and Rõzu walked away. "So, I may or may not be older than you, 18 to be exact" "oh well that's not too big of a difference, it's just a year or so-" "I ain't finished ya little shit" Kounna hushed Junako before continuing "A while back I dropped outta school-" "huh? Really? Why-" "Oh my god, just stop talking. I can't continue if you keep asking me questions, what are you the ultimate questioner? No? Then shut up." With that outburst, Junako fell silent "good, now as I was sayin'. I dropped outta school to help my family financially, I was helping to put my little sister through schooling, I started with a simple part time job . . ." Kounna shuffled unnervingly in his seat ". . . but, she wanted to do more, my little sister had her own dreams, she wanted to learn how to cook" Kounna stopped a second time, pulling at his the tie he had around his neck, pulling it off of his shirt and started to fiddle with it "that's when part time job 2 started. Then 3. You get the picture" Kounna sighed, moving the plate back in front of him "This is actually my first year back at school, it's gonna be a rough time readjusting, but I'll manage . . . alright I said my shit, now get lost." With that Kounna ordered Junako away to a different table. Oddly enough, despite all the swearing that was thrown his way, Junako felt that he had learned a bit more about Kounna.

After everyone had their meals a few people stuck around, Junako decided to join in with them: Sora, Akemi, Tako, Ataeru, Drake and Rocky all sat around one table and were sharing stories with one another "So there I was barbecue sauce on ma-" Tako was in the middle of telling some sort of wild tale "STOP! Stop, no. Bad Tako! No stories about . . . that . . ." Ataeru said quickly, hushing Tako as quickly and politely as he could "hmph . . . fine then . . ." she sulked as Rocky started a different story "okay, here's a story about my first stunt. It all started when on the movie set of the fifth 'Harry Peter' film" Rocky told the group on how he preformed his stunts, how he was doing the stunts for Ren weasel, one of the three main characters "I even got to me the ultimate actress Emma Magarobi, she was pretty cool and I even went out to get coffee with her once" Rocky proclaimed proudly, everyone in the group apart from Akemi seemed excited by the mention of the actress ". . . that was once . . . about five years ago . . ." Rocky chuckled awkwardly, the groups excited atmosphere died immediately ". . . a-anyways, while I was preforming one of Ren's stunt double, I got into my first accident. A moving door close on my left arm while I was doing an escape scene, the door almost broke it." Rocky pulled his jacket off of his left arm and showed everyone a scar that his left arm, just above his shoulder, Sora looked over at him and scoffed "pfftt, that's not a scar, get a load of this" Sora rose from her seat and rolled up the sleeve of her t-shirt, a large graze was over the top of her shoulder and just above her elbow "got that during my latest race, it was pretty great, but it kinda took me out of commission for about a week" the track runner claimed proudly, Rocky sat down in his seat and put his jacket back on, Akemi gave him a pat on the back and told him "it could've been worse . . ." Rocky sighed and agreed with her. Tako was about to show, what Junako assumed, would be the worst scar of the bunch, since she started to undo the bandages from around her right hand, but Akemi came in with the saving grace "hey, h-how about we do something else instead, n-no more scars. Okay?" The seamstress hastily moved the topic on to something much more stomach-able, much to Tako's unhappiness "fine . . . how about my first scientific discovery!" Tako took control of the conversation, and then proceeded to tell an oddly grand and amusing tale, of her first discovery and one of her first creations as a scientist. Junako and the group felt that hey learned something new about each other. "You did not, seriously, invent a toothpaste dispenser that also doubled as a medication dispenser, at the age of 9 . . ." Ataeru remarked in awe, a few others were also amazed by the feat "yeah well . . . let's just say that it took a while to perfect the dispensing mechanism . . . may or may not of brushed my teeth with cough medicine . . ." "what flavour?" "Strawberry- I mean, shut up!" Tako yelled angrily at Drake's remark, a laugh erupted from the group, which caused Tako to sit down angrily and pout, "and your first discovery, about milk really coming from cow's and goats? . . . It's not that grand . ." Ataeru mentioned "It was when I was 5!" Tako yelled back, causing more laughter "L-look you guys, I tried really hard to make a good start when I was young . . . w-who cares if I screwed up a few times, I was still determined!" Tako attempted to defend herself "we do, these stories are hilarious" Rocky joked about, harming Tako's pride and massive ego, but she forgave them after Ataeru apologised on their behalf.
