Prologue ~~
I lie under my cover, sniffing back a tear. I have to stay strong I tell myself. I hear another bone cracking slap come from the kitchen. The sound casue more tears to pour down my face. I hear the scream and shouts coming from my parents and then a fatal harsh hit, a yelp of submissive pain and then silence. I hold my breath to hear more.
Thud.
Thud.
Thud.
Thud.
The door to the bathroom opens and I hear the shower turn on.
Seizing the opportunity I make a quick run around my room and stuff random clothes into my duffel bag. hairbrush, toothbrush, bras, pants, socks, random clothes on my floor. I grab my iPod and a framed photo of my parents of the wall. Wiping my eyes with the back of my sleeve I hurry downstairs, hesitant to check the shower was still on. I rush down and run into the kitchen to find my mom lying on the floor, blood soaking her face. The amount of tears pouring down my face made it difficult to see where I was going and I tripped numerous times. I hurried and turned my mom over, I put my ear to her mouth.
No breath.
I was in such a state of shock I did what came first to my mind. I rushed to my mini outside and revved the engine. Before I left, I sighed and turned to my house.
"Goodbye" I barely whispered under my breath.
