"I still love Michael Ash, but at the same time i have feelings for Luke, and I- I just can't seem to figure out what to do" I spoke smally, curled up on the sofa of the guys shared apartment.
"You really have got yourself in a mess haven't you?" Ashton joked lightly, trying to make light of the situation.
"I'm just so confused, on one hand i want Luke, on the other i want Michael" I said.
"Well Michael ended things with you didn't he?" Ash asked.
"Yes, but i don't want to give up on him that easily. Part of me still refuses to believe it's over." I sighed loudly.
"I think, if you really worked at things with Michael, and i mean really worked at it, forgot Luke completely, and tried your best to resolve all this with Michael, maybe things just might work out for you both. but y/n, you have to forget all about Luke, if you want Michael back."
"I know that I have to choose one, but either way I'm going to lose someone I love and that feels unbearable! How do I choose?"
"I don't even know y/n" Ashton said, more seriously now.
"What do you honestly think of all of this Ash?"
He sighed, and turned to me, his expression serious.
"Y/N, you're like my sister, but if i'm going to be 100% honest with you i'll say this now. What you've done is asolutely horrible. Michael deserves much better than to be cheated on. He doesn't deserve any of this y/n. Trust me i speak from experiance, once you've been cheated on, no matter how badly you love them, or want them back, everytime you look at them, you're just constantly reminded of what they did, and it just brings back all the hurt again." He breathed looking intently at you. "It's bad enough he's going to be reminded every time he see's Luke."
You felt a pang of dread in your chest. Hearing Ashton talk about it seemed to make it feel 100 times worse.
"But i don't want to lose him" I choked.
"Sometimes the right thing is hard, but you've got to think about Michael in all of this. None of this is fair on him, not one bit. Put yourself in his shoes for a second Y/N, would you want to take him back if he had just cheated on your with your best friend?"
You contemplated it for a second, knowing every word Ashton was saying was true.
"So you're saying i should choose Luke?"
"I'm not saying that at all. At the end of the day, it's your choice. You just have to do what you think is right" He took a sip from his hot chocolate, the silence allowing time to think. "I do know one thing about Luke. He doesn't just say those things to any old girl. He must really really love you y/n, and i mean really love you, because he doesn't just fall for anyone. You must really mean something to him, more than you can imagine because i've watched him in previous relationships, and never has he ever done what he has for you."
"Oh god what do i do?! Either way someone is going to get hurt" You cried, burying your head in your lap.
"That's life Y/N. It doesn't matter who you choose, someone will get hurt. At the end of the day, just do what you think is right. It's your life, and your choices."
You contemplated everything for a few seconds.
Ashton was right.
If you chose Michael, you would hurt Luke.
If you chose Luke, you would hurt Michael.
