You can do this

It had been almost 2 months since the whole Michael-Luke incident had happened, and to be perfectly honest nothing had been the same since.  You'd think, working alongside 5 Seconds Of Summer, you'd see both Luke and Michael almost every day, if anything that was the opposite.

That's how you met the guys, when you were offered the job as their song writer.

At the time they wasn't big amongst the music world. They had just finished tour with One Direction, and the media had basically just really noticed them.

It was a small job, just co-writing the songs with the rest of their team, or the guys themselves, but it was bigger than anything you've had before. Since then, their career had rocked in the past 3 years, and so had yours. Your work had been recognised by the producers of ITV, and the likes of The Vamps. You had been offered other jobs, even one to co-write with writers from America but you never took them.

Everyone had called you crazy, for denying such an opportunity, but the way you saw it was, 5 Seconds Of Summer was the reason for your recognition, and they would be the reason you stayed. Despite it being still, quite a small job in comparison to co-writing for big record labels out in America, you loved it, and felt you had everything you needed right where you were, a secure job, a happy relationship, and great friendships.

Had.

You hadn't spoken to Michael since you went by to see him, and neither Luke, not properly anyway. Your head was still crazily all over the place, desperately weighing up who you wanted more, and failing to meet a conclusion every time.

You decided it was best to move out from their shared apartment, it was tough on Luke. He understood why you were taking your time, but his patience were wearing thin, waiting for a decision, and friction was starting to build.

You had moved in with another member of their team, Shelly, also one of your best friends. She lived local around London, where the boys were currently situated for the next 4 months, and she was more than willing to accommodate you.

You had been doing a lot of thinking over the past 2 months.

A lot of thinking

The space away from everyone had given you the ability to truly try and sort out that whirlwind of thoughts that had knotted themselves helplessly in your head, and for the past few months you were finally getting somewhere.

"You're definitely ready to do this?" Shelly asked anxiously, hovering by the door, as you shoved your parka jacket and converse on. "You're 100% sure, it's him you want, because once you do this , there's no turning back"

"I'm 100% sure" You replied. You had given this a lot of thought, and you were positive you were choosing the right guy, Despite this though, there still was an uncomfortable anxious knotting feeling in the pit of your stomach. You ignored it, grabbing your phone and typing.

Meet me in the Coffee Shop on Jerry Lane in 15 minutes, we need to talk

You pressed send before you could chicken out. you phone went off almost straightaway.

Okay? I'll be there

You swallowed the lump in your throat, shoving your phone back in your pocket, and headed out the door. The winter was tamer now, and spring was pushing through. You walked down the empty streets, the street lamps flickering on, as the sky grew darker.  Counting cracks in the pavement, you stomach tightened as you grew closer. The coffee shop was only a few blocks away, but you purposely walked as slow as you could, to waste time.

Even though you were sure this was the right decision, you felt nothing by nervous.

You can do this Ashleigh, you can do this, don't be a coward.

You mentally coached yourself all the way to the end of the street, and you almost froze dead on the spot as the coffee shop came into view. The small sign lighting red dimly on the pavement, as you watched the bulbs in it flicker. You forced yourself forward, practically racing to the shop now, because you knew if you slowed down, you'd talk yourself into turning around and walking straight back.

Taking in a deep breath, you pushed open the little door, the bell ringing over your head seemed 10 times louder than normal, as the strong scent of coffee intoxicated you. You scanned the people sitting in the little metal chairs pulled up at the tables, until you reached a tall figure at the back, slouched in his chair.

It was him.

Your heartbeat sped up, as you weaved through the people sipping coffee, and chatting away, stopped silently at the table he sat at.

He looked up quickly, as your shadow fell on his face, his wide eyes staring up at yours.

"Ashleigh" He said quickly, looking up at you still.

You bit on the inside of your cheeks like you usually do, and stayed rooted to the spot.

"Michael"  You breathed  "we need to talk"

Again this is only a short edit, but i really wanted to leave in on this.

FYI, I decided to name the character, rather than putting (Y/N) and have came to the conclusion of Ashleigh, after she was the one who suggested to name her.

Other than that nothing has changed, and i hope you're enjoying it so far.

Thank-you:)
